Sweet. I love the cirular framing in the first picture. No blood drops going down the image. ???
-
Lovely highlights on the black suits, that's always difficult to do well. 8)

marvellous!

Looking good! Any other henchmen painted up other than oddjob?
-
Red Grant? He's one of my favourites (Rosa Klebb, too). In the book you really get more of a sense of just how much of a psychopath he is. He works for SMERSH (or SPECTRE in the movie) not out of any great commitment to Communism (or ... er ... international freelance criminality/gigantic underground secret bases) but just because he really, really loves being horrible to people and then killing them.
Looking forward to seeing him. :)
-
You messed his trousers? What were you doing wearing his trousers? lol
(I don't even want to think about what messing his face entailed)
-
Oh I did the same thing the other day with one of mine. It just got away from me, and before I knew where I was there were so many layers that it was just a blobby mess. So I scraped all the paint off his face and started again. It was demoralising as the good bits went west with the bad (throwing the baby out with the bathwater, as it were), but it seemed the only way to get back on track.
Still haven't finished him. Redone the eyes and the bulk of the face, but not the highlights yet. That's where I went wrong before and I'm a bit nervous of it.
-
Your blog is incredible Mr Plynkes!
Thank you very much. Just a shame I haven't updated it for more than a year. Oh well. Good to see Red done. Nice one.

Goldfinger is not bad
I'd prefer Never say Never again
the guy with the windbreaker looks like Daniel Craig.
Interesting - my Favourite Bond Movie is For Your eyes Only in spiteof Roger Moore and I like the last two in spite of Daniel Craig. And my favourite Bond is Pierce Brosnan though I don't like the movies. Strange....
-
Goldfinger does indeed rock. But my favourite (I bet you can guess) is...
It's my favourite one of the books, too.
-
I guess I'd go for Goldfinger as well. I just love Gerd Fröbe telling the about to be horribly executed Bond: "Talk, Mr. Bond? No, I expect you to die!" Wonderful scene and probably THE scene if we're talking about "piutting the protagonist into a potentially letal yet absurdly easily escapable situation".
-
I'm going to have to go with "You Only Live Twice", I just love the end where the ninjas attack the secret volcano hideout.
-
What should I paint next?: Bond Girls, more James Bond models or the KGB?
I don't suppose anybody does Bambi and Thumper in 28mm, do they?
I find this pair oddly compelling. :)
-
Nice to see some Bond girls show up. More nice work, thanks for sharing.
-
WOW
Thanks for sharing these great pics.
Very nice painting on all of it.
Great terrain to, any chance of seeing some pics featureing the terrain?
Also, who makes the two female figrues on the square bases?
Thanks
Tom
-
of course when it comes to Blofeld, there are various impersonations....
-
Any chance of a larger view of that mountain & snow terrain? What we can see looks good!
Which rules are you planning on using for Bond-games?
-
Oh yea! Love the winter terrain. Have been planning a artic adventure myself and your pictures are great inspiration!
-
Above my painting desk is a signed picture from Mr. Harryhausen, I also consider him one of the bigger influences in my hobby of choice.
-
Wow RHH! My hero!
Great work on these BTW. If you like this genre, then I'll hopefully have an announcement in the next couple of days about a new venture that might be right up your street... keep 'em peeled.

I love photoshop and You have so nice pictures :D
-
well, they are just fine for the net.
And I don't mean the technical quality, but how You put it all in scene :)
-
LOVE those two photographer, who puts them out?
-
Don't take this the wrong way, but its always best to choose a couple of photos, than loads of similar ones.
Its not like its a game report, with some text with each photo, just lots of similar ones one after the other.
;)

I was thinking the same thing! I guess if I ever saw him in the pub the least he could do is buy me a drink lol I always adored his miniatures but fell out of love with the hobby 12 years ago until now. I feel that I've made up for those 12 years :)
-
Aye, you've been very productive as of late.
