Title: Steam Power! Pic heavy
Post by: Mr. Burning on March 01, 2010, 10:06:34 AM
Some photos I took on my last visit to The Think Tank, Birmingham UK./

With me new preoccupation of low tech steam mech and VSF its fairly inspirational.

Thought that these may be of some use.

We go there quite regularly. My son loves the place and you are right, there is a lot of VSF inspiration there. For people like me who have no idea of how steam engines actually work, there is a lot of source material on how to build convincing models.

Oooh pretty things.
 :)

It's been far too long since I've gone to a museum or other such place with good examples of victorian tech. I don't know if it still has (I'd assume so), but the Edinburgh Natural History Muesum often had great examples when I was a kid, from steam engines to victorian van de graff generators and orreries
