Title: How to paint marble
Post by: YPU on 03 March 2010, 04:21:07 PM
Does anybody have a good tutorial on how to paint marble? I’m not looking for super advanced stuff, more of a quick and dirty way to get the effect fast and simple.  ::)

Anyhow, thanks in advance.

Quick and dirty way I think is just to 'trail' the contrasting vein colour over the main colour. Not really paint it with any conviction, just kind of dry-brush it, with a slightly 'wetter' brush, if that makes sense, in long wiggley lines.

Have you got some marble reference pics? They will hopefully explain what I mean.

One of the better tutorials I have ever found for this purpose.

Wyrd Chronicles issue 2 has an article on painting marble, also using sponge (or rather clump foliage). I tried on a grave stone and failed miserably but then I'm not a very good painter!
