Action in the south of Atlantis continued this morning with a dawn assault on the Prussian primary shoreside supply dump and docks. The Captains light forces forced a crossing of the Steaming River to arrive on the west flank of the depot, rather than taking the longer route and approaching from the north... seems there were some rather nasty creatures habitating in their original approach route.. So with the hustle and bustle of the newly arrived Tramp Steamer inadverntantly proviidng cover noise from their cranes, Captain and his formation attacked.

Kaptain Von Kluless had his forces deployed knowing that the British were likely to attack, but exspected them from the north believeing they would take the easier approach.
The battle raged and the depot was being carried, The One british light tank, whose mission was to hull the tanker twice with waterline shots.... has left Barnsworth cursing the fates as it broke down just before getting to a clearing with a line of sight on the water line, though having put several shots into the superstrucure.
Prussian forces fell back on the ship and the British forces had to settle for burning the supply dump and taking prussian wounded prisoners.

Cool scenario and great figures!!
-
Very nice game :-* :-*
-
Looks like you had great fun!
Where are the Prussians from? Ironclad?
And which mageknight figs are they?
Inquisitive mind, I must apologise!
Brilliant to see such a great little selection of miniatures. :)
-
Great News, keep pushing those Prussians back into the sea eh What?!
Lovely stuff as always ;D
-
Dawn assault you say? More damnable sneakyness from the Brits. I trust the Prussians will regroup and counter attack.
-
Nice to see a bit of action in the south there Alfrik, and a battle that the British don't just lose and than spin as some sort of tactical or moral victory! Of course, it's been a mixed week for the Prussians, their successful attack on the Confederate States forces in the north-east earlier in the week being balanced by what looks a pretty disastrous engagement for them here...
PM me details and I can update the campaign maps while I'm adding the Cofederate/Prussian scrap.
-
Great stuff - really like the Tramp Steamer.
-
The Mage Knight figures used for the Mechanified Infantry are Steam Tinker figs. The colonial british figures are borrowed so not sure on that.
-
The Prussians are Renegade Germans and the British Home Service are from Ironclad.
-
Great stuff Alfrik. Looking forward to the next action.

I thought they were renegade. I might have to invest in some! ;D
-
Great report and a nice looking game.
-
Looks great, but would it be possible to get a better picture of the Steam Tinkers? it looks to me like it has new crew figure, but maybe it is just the bad angles in the report?
-
Jonas, the Mechanified infantry are indeed a Crewed Vehicle of sorts;
(http://i700.photobucket.com/albums/ww1/Alfrik_photos/001-2.jpg) I was rushed with some assorted things and could not get their paint job more complete, and long range plans are to lengthen the body with an insert and put Pith Helmets on the crewmen.
Whiskyrat, here is a link to how I built the Tramp Steamer:

I have some sketches for an updated and cleaned up version in the works :)
-
Yeah, ok, not so much done yet... I will look forward to see progress on them, the model has great potential.
-
I quite like those....
Dang. More Mageknight things I want... >:(

Nice first effort - hats off to you Sir!
-
Rob, I picked up the Steam Tinkers at TrollandToad.com for .49 cents each not to long ago. Looking for a source of Pith helmeted heads though, to replace the stock dwarven wild haired head, though the goggles are nice, maybe just putting a pith helmet on the exsisting head some how.. hmmm. Also going to mix and match some of the wielded weapons to give a bit of variety.
-
A quick look at my location will tell you I live in the UK and the postage would be hell!
Pith helmets? Look at Empress Miniatures! Brigade Games stock them in the US. Lovely sculpts. :D
-
Yeah, Empress has both pith helmets and loose heads with pith helmets.
But if you want something other, you can try the Ramshackle heads with pith helmet and gasmasks...
-
Empress Miniature head sets, I suspect your refering to the: Head sprue with Adrian Helmet, as most the rest are berets, fez's or turbans.
-
Empress do British Heads in Sun Helmets and Glengarries in their Zulu range as well as a nice variety of heads with Adrian, Spanish and Czeck helmets as well as a garrison cap.

Artizan do some really nice WW2 Italian heads in sun helmets with goggles

West Wind probably has the largest assortment of heads available. I just don't have the time to do a head count.

The Empress items can be found here:

The Ramshackle heads I refered to is these:

I have used both the Ramshackle and Empress heads for my Victorian Brits and I can recommend both.
-
Those Ramshackle heads are good.
Westwind do some Prussian ones with Gasmasks...
I have just ordered a load of Prussians, so expect some mischievious stories soon!!! :D ;D
-
Back from a 1:1 scale painting job, I like the assorted hat and ammo cases! Looks like Field packs and bundles also, can hang some of those off the sides of the Meachanified Troopers.... Hmmmm more modeling ideas sprouting as I ponder.
-
Just make sure to take pictures :D
-
Yeah, be sure to take photos.
That would look good, some packs and things on Automata...
