Hi all,
I have just started playing 40k again, and I am looking for some good forums to chat about 40k tactics and rule questions.
Has anyone got any thoughts?
I don't want to keep asking here, even though this is the best forum on the web with the best members! :-* :-* (flatter, flatter)

Warseer might be your best bet. I'm not a memeber myself but do pop over there every now and then for the eye candy. Also, there is Dakka Dakka, which is along the same lines, rules sections, painting, conversions etc.
cheers
James

I would agree with Warseer, and also offer Bolter and Chainsword, and Tau Online Forums.

I used to spend a lot of time at Heresy Online when I was mainly playing 40k a couple of years ago. It's a massive forum, with no particular bias towards armies.
-
Try out Dakka Dakka plenty of 40k info around and it can be more easy going than Warseer, particularly when you don't agree with a particular POV.
-
Warseer for modeling definately, can be a bit weird for tactics though, as Mr Burning said, also as they don't have specific racial threads for tactics you can get either overseen (and therefore no help at all) or sometimes someone who knows nothing about that race commenting on it and giving unuseful help.
40konline is great for tactics, especially Eldar and Dark Eldar.
Bolter and Chainsword have some good marine tactics ('the way of the water warrior' thread is something of a 40k legend)
Then there are Dakka Dakka and Tau online which I'm not really familiar with.

Golden Throne was a good forum, don't know if its still running. Not as rabid as some I've seen and was definitely open to new ideas. I think Ramshackle Curtis was a member, actually...
I only ever lurked there, never joined up, but enjoyed the free exchange of ideas and got some nice inspiration for paintjobs and things.

Dakka Dakka for the win its bursting with members

Heresy Online is pretty good, as long as you don't mind lots of people moaning about Space Marines get everything and how one day GW's gonna have a Stalin-style purge after which you'll only be able to play Space Marines, Space Marines, and nothing but Space Marines.
That said, there's some good guys there, who'll help you out with tactics, modelling tips and the like.
Oh and watch out for Stella, he's a man, not a woman, but he's bloody funny.

If you're into more "fluffy" games then you might check out 'The great Crusade'
www.thegreatcrusade.co.uk
Its all about pre-heresy/heresy era gaming (warhammer 30k if you will) and is a great community with very helpful members and some truly awesome modelling/painting/conversion articles and tips. The only one I bother with these days. Of all the 40k forums I've visited it seems to be the most like LAF in that there are lots of people actually DOING cool things rather than moaning about how broken 40k is or gabbling on about how far they can bend the rules to make their new tournament lists.
Quite refreshing really. ;)
