Title: Your source for HO model RR buildings and terrain?
Post by: Smokeyrone on March 13, 2010, 12:20:33 AM
I've been out of the HO model RR game for too long, maybe, but I need a lot of structures (to convert/add to/etc) for 15mm modern zombie gaming (I need a WHOLE table full of stuff)

Everywhere I look on the net, I see very high prices (Ebay, for HO scale IHC kits, por example, starts the bidding at high retail, plus exhorberant shipping in most cases, and that's if you win the item without a bidding war)

I'm looking for cheap, cheap HO kits, already built, used, damaged, etc.

Anyone have a source?  (LOL!  PM me if it is a 'sensitive" source, I can keep a secret   ;))

Thank you,

Smokey C. Rone  (and the "C" stands for "Can't find nothing in HO" )

Hi "Smokey C Rone",

Looking for cheap railroad buildings can be difficult especially if like me you model US and live in the UK.

Why don't you check out the adverts in the model railroading mags. "Model Railroader" and "Model Railroad Craftsman" both used to have a considerable number of pages specifically for shop adverts, some of which had farly good "close out" sales. Worth a try.

Failing that, look out for a toy train show or swapmeet nearby - again this may be advertised in the Model Railroad press.

I have just been exhibiting at a show this weekend where I saw several large building kits (walthers types) going cheap (for the UK at least).

Good luck.
