I worked on this little squirt while I was do my BPRD entry for round 2 of the current LPL contest. The photograph has flattened out the colors somewhat, so I think I need to go back and do some more facial shading to show the features better. I'll also brighten up the eyes when I do.

I LIKE PANCAKES!
He is lost to us.
Excellent job with him. I agree that the highlights probably need to get punched up a little bit. But I like your painting style.

PAMCAKES!
Good job Heldrak, as ever.
Because Mignola artwork is so intentionally "flat" and because HB in particular is presented as almost an even red colour all over in the comic, movies and cartoons I am not sure that highlighting would do you any more favours here. It may make the character less recognisable. I would think that working with the shading is the way to go.
But what do I know? Its not like I have painted up my Hellbaby :)

Horrorclix?

Horrorclix?
Yep. It came in the BPRD set that came out a couple of years ago. Actually now that I think of it, that BPRD set could be used in both Horrorclix and Heroclix games if one was so inclined.
It contained Hellboy, Ben Daimyo, Liz Sherman, Abe Sapien, Hellbaby, Roger the Homunculous and Johann Krauss figures.

Another lovely repaint. :-* And I also think the highlights are fine.
