Title: Irregular Miniatures F&IW
Post by: Silent Invader on 29 March 2010, 04:28:00 PM
Is any one familiar with the Irregular Miniatures mohicans and other F&IW minis?

There are a couple of smallish images on the website but I'd be interested to hear if anyone has seen them in the flesh.

My native American warband is built between Conquest (at one extreme) and Perry (at the other extreme) from whom I've pretty much acquired all that will work as a woodland indian and so am looking for other compatible sources.

How do the Irregular compare to Conquest and Perry, both in terms of sculpting and size?

Thanks.

Irregular sculpting is... Irregular. They are of the OOOOOLD school. But hey, they're good value.

The sizes are normally just a tad bigger than 25.  :)

I don't think they are very compatable.  The irregular sculpts are not up to today's standards... especially when you are talking about Perry and Conquest sculpts, which are top of the line.

I would suggest going with Galloping Major.  They have very nice Mohawks and Hurons!  Galloping Major fits in very nicely with Conquest and Perry.  I like everything Galloping Major has released and he plans to do a very extensive range!

Also Brigade Games has 10 very nice early King Philip's War Indian sculpts that also are very nice and fit in well with the above brands.  I just purchased those for myself and I use Perry, Conquest, and Galloping Major myself.

Also Brigade Games does a very nice Indian command miniature in the King Philip's War range.  These were the miniatures released to go with Amoungst the War Parties by Ratrap Games.

Sorry the Brigade Games webstore is currently down for maintence so I can't post a link or photographs.  I believe Lon is currently in the process of switching to a new server.

sorry to deviate a bit, but could You please explain the difference between the two "extremes" Perry and Conquest?
they look quite compatible to me

don't bother
Apart from the Perry versions looking slightly more elegant and in scale, it is really hard to tall any difference.

I get Your point
compatibles should not be bulkier than Conquest nor slimmer/smaller than Perry
I noticed these fine ranges some time ago and became interested, and I asked myself who copied whom here...  ;)

To be honest, I always asked myself how the canadian native americans who operated the boats in the Sudan might have looked like.... :D
but this is definitely offTopic
