Take note their late 17th century figures are on the large side on a par with Front Rank not sure if these are the same though.

No, these are smaller than the late 17th/early 18th century figures.

One of the Gents in the club has painted some of the New Model Red Army which have turned out very nice but I can't seem to get the pictures loaded up. I'll keep trying.

Have seen the early releases in the lead, and in a one-word summary:

DISAPPOINTING

 :(

Not helped by them being covered in white paint, presumably liberally applied with a decorators roller, but the detail wasn't great.

Most disappointing feature was the rifles were tiny compared to the figures, and other ranges - a real shame, as it would be good to have other ranges to work with.  Perhaps the new releases have corrected this, but I wouldn't buy them without seeing them "in the lead" first.

Personally, i'd strongly recommend the following for VBCW:

Musketeer
Empress (Anglian miniatures SCW range)
Great War Miniatures
Artizan
Pulp
Gripping Beast - their head sets are very very useful for conversions.
Copplestone
even some Renegade will fit in.

What I suspected from the images. A pity, since the catalogue was pretty interesting.

Don't get me wrong, its great to see other companies producing figures - and maybe the quality has improved, on the newer sculpts (?) - its just that there are far better out there than the first ones they produced.

Can't recommend enough getting the Gripping Beast head sprues, and doing some simple conversion - a pin vice drill will cost £3 from most model shops.  Even a different paint job, makes a whole raft of figures usable for VBCW - just needs a little imagination.
