And if not, why not?!?!

Whoa... those look a bit too scifi to be real...
-
Good lord! When I first looked at the pic, I thought they were sci fi film extras :o
You're right, we definitely need some of these chaps in 28mm.
-
Was it just me or do they have codpieces? :?

If I was a riot cop, I'd want a codpiece.

Damn straight.
How cool is that uniform? I could find a use for those troops.
-
If I was a riot cop I'd rather have a bloody great shield and a water cannon than a fish supper.
-
Last time I saw anyone with that much armour, he had a horse and a lance........
Riots in Venezuela must be something else......
-
Whoah.
Closest I can think of are Kasrkin but that's not quite the same.
Whoah again.

Dunno if anyone makes the Venezuelano version but a quick google of Batalhao de Choque, the Brazilian version, has the following action figure listed on submarino, an online trader, akin to Amazon.

Ok so there's a little artistic licence involved but I will say that the real ones you see at the football, in full fig, wearing camos, wielding enormous clubs and shields, facing the spectators are scary enough. Who in their right mind would want to invade the pitch is beyond me. At the old Fonte Nova, you had to scale a 6 foot wire fence, cross an 8 foot deep ditch before you even made to the riot police and their German Shepheards. Still the shields came in useful deflecting missiles from the refs as they left the pitch at the end of the game.

The original pic may actually be of Peruvian riot troops rather than Venezuelan.

Damn, I just commissioned a set of these figures, too............... lol

That makes more sense, they have a bloody awful football team, even worse than Venezuela's. :)

lol, as long as they use the ref pic it wouldn't matter. Although I'm sure someone will point out the mistake on TMP when they're released ;) lol
-
I have it in my head now that they should all be mounted on llamas.............. lol o_o :o

Preety close ish might do the job.

Ah, I'd forgotten about them! Been wanting those figures for a while, cheers.
Edit: I've now remembered why I don't own them. With shipping etc factored in they're damned expensive.

For when water cannons just won't do-
