Title: Murderous Assassination Attempt.
Post by: gamer Mac on April 08, 2010, 11:24:59 AM
Murderous Assassination Attempt.

Decorated Hero of the Atlantis campaign Commander Dan D Lyons was attacked last night while recuperating in a forward aid station. It is not clear yet whither he will survive the attempt as doctors are now carrying out emergency surgery. Word is expected later today.

It has now been confirmed that the raid on the depot was carried out by the vile Chinese empire, as three of the leaders of the enemy force were wounded and captured after the failure of the raid.
The attack was carried out on an Aeronef forward supply depot which was guarded by a detachment of naval infantry from the Aeronef Venus and a rifle section from the Blackwatch, who are on light duties recovering after as recent battle.

In the command was Lt Peter Ness of the Blackwatch.
Lieutenant H Nelson (No relation) was in charge of the naval detachment and also responsible for protecting HMAS Venus which was also at the depot. Most of her crew were away from the ship involved in a ground action, leaving just the small guard detail.
Petty Officer Seth Pool was in charge of the supply depot, which contained fuel and food for the Aeronefs but more importantly the depot contained all the tea supplies for the right flank of the British Forces on Atlantis (BFOA).

The story of the attack appears to be that Chinese Special Forces were sneaking up on the camp in the dead of the night.

But before they could eliminate the sentries one of the leaders, Od wok, kicked over a bucket and alerted the closest sentry, who opened fire wounding the leader and putting him out the fight. This shot also alerted the rest of the camp.

The remaining Chinese then tried to rush the fully awakened camp.

Their main objectives appear to have been to gather information from the command tent, the Aeronef HMAS Venus and also damage the various supplies around the camp. One of the Chinese was found to be carrying flammable materials with the purpose of firing the supplies.

A lot of the brave British sentries died to protect the camp but in the end Lieutenants P Ness and H Nelson saved the day when they emerged from the command tent. Lt P Ness managed to put down a mysterious female who appeared to be in charge of the Chinese. Lt H Nelson heroically protected the vital Aeronef from the vile Chinese attentions. One of the wounded captured after the battle is Peter Edward Wee. Who is known to have studied Engineering in Britain and it is believed that his purpose was to gather secret information on the Aeronef.

In a vile act of spite after the Chinese forces realised they were going to fail in their mission one of the Special Forces soldiers charged in to the medical tent and cowardly attacked Cmd Dan D Lyons as he lay in his sick bed. Unable to fight back the commander succumbed to the attack. We are awaiting doctor reports on his condition.
Petty Officer Seth Pool gallantly protected rum ration on board HMAS Venus but he had to report that one bottle was smashed during the incident by a stray bullet.
Three of the leaders of the enemy forces are receiving medical attention, under guard, and their fates will not be known until later. The treatment they receive will be based on the condition of Cmd Dan D Lyons. If he dies they will be tried and hanged for murder.

Thanks guys
The small details around the tents are just trying to disguise their cheapo nature.
When I first built it, I didn’t realise the Nef was so big compared to other peoples. It is also a bit more fragile than other Nefs I have seen since. But we build them big up here :D
And all the Biscuits were safe lol

Which biscuits were those?

I like the ones that are similar, but without the cream. Butter biscuits or something like that. WOnderful gaming biscuits, but can sometimes be a PITA to find in stores!

I really must organise my next VSF game. But that involves painting up a horde of Thugs.... lol

Completely awesome! Love the defence of the tea depot, and that is really an incredible nef. And obviously it's good to see the Chinese getting in on the action at last!

I'll start calculating recovery times for injured heroes and such like... right, the steam-powered cogitator is whirring... carry on chaps, this may take some time.

It is a scratch build a round the cargo of a days gone by truck. The coal sacks have been sitting in my bits box for a while now.
From this truck I got off ebay for a £1.

Hadn't thought about that :?
I suppose it is probably Chinese. That's why they are upset, I suppose :D
