Hi everyone,
I've started posting pictures of the sci-fi mining town that I'm building called Colton's Curse. I'll be continuing this project for a while and will include buildings, vehicles, terrain, and miniatures.
Please take a look!

Looking good! Keep it coming!

Is there a link ?
-
Ack! There is now. Thanks for pointing that out!
-
That looks promising, where are the minis from?
-
They're from Gangs of Mega City One. No longer in print but the plastic minis are still pretty easy to find cheaply.
-
Hey Roe,
Looking over the blog. Looking good thus far. Very promising. I really like when peeps can take simple things and turn them into something kool and usable.
I was also curious of a pic on your blog. The cowboy riding the lizard. Looks like it is taken from a strip of some kind. Where is it from? :-)
Grimm
EDIT
NEVERMIND Damn pretty pictures caught my attention. I didn't notice those word thingies under the banner pic. Looking pretty good. Always liked the "cowboy" sort riding dino's. :-)

Looks truly excellent.
I look forward to seeing where this goes. :)

Very, very cool looking buildings. They have a nice believable "near future" look to them, and I'll be following the growth of the town with interest to borrow ideas for my own (embryonic at the moment) terrain for Star Mogul. Good stuff!
-
Very nice, consider yourself "followed"
-
Nice! Has a "Ghosts of Mars" look (that's a good thing: the movie was rubbish, but the outdoor sets/locations looked good IMO).
-
As soon as I see rounded buildings in sand colours I go all star wars... lol
But this is looking really splendificant!
-
Really cool, I especially like your take on the old Rogue Trader "bucket of sand" type building. I'll be watching this with interest since my attempts at building a consistent sci-fi town have fallen by the wayside.
-
That's very nice indeed!
-
I have to join in.
Very nice, indeed.
-
Very nice. I think the small dome looks better before you painted it, that paper stuff has an amazing texture, looks like dirty concrete!
-
I'm almost finished with the diner construction. I'll post pics once it's all together. Then comes the jailhouse which is going to be more of a mini fortress.
Thanks for all the encouragement!
-
Great stuff! I like the look of the buildings.
I'll have to keep a look out for the comic when it gets released. Looks promising.
-
Like those plastics, really looks awesome.

I just posted another issue of Fantasy Modeling Magazine to my blog. Next blog post will be more buildings for Colton's Curse including a diner and an air farming still.

I have already copied and pasted the image to my terrain inspiration file. Looks great. And I like that you finally found a good use of that Hirst Arts set.
But the use of the 1/4 round is inspired. I will definately steal this idea. and it has the mining colony wasteland feel. Like the edges were just sanded off the building cause of wear and exposure. Great. I will follow your progress.

Inspired, as always.
Great buildings, believable yet still 'sci-fi'.
-
That diner is delicious. I love the colour combination - the ochre/sand and cream for the walls and the red for the sign are great. Looks a bit like a postapocalyptic Twinkie (which, along with cockroaches, are bound to survive us).

Really great. Just like th efirst ones.
