I decided I'd finally take on that long planned American Civil War project after a year (or two) of debating on scale. I had originally planned on 6mm, but after picking up a box of Perry's plastics I changed my mind and decided to give 28mm a go. Here's my first effort. The flag is a "passable" freehand, but I'm thinking I'll replace it with some of the nice one's you can buy online.

What rules do you plan to use for this new project?

The flag is great! Why replace it?

They look good; I am even more tempted to get a box.
Great job.

That flag ain't bad at all. But save your money and go to warflag.com and download excellent flags for free. They have a huge ACW selection.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Glad you like 'em. I used a lot of your cavalry pictures for inspiration when I was painting my horses. I've always admired your "style" for painting them.

I'm basing them for playing Black Powder. Those rules my be more of fast play than simulation style, but for my group that's exactly what I need. I'm hoping it's a hit.

Thanks. Looks okay in this picture, but really pretty shaky on closer examination. lol
