With the LPL now finished I thought I would post some close up pictures of my round ten entry.
I don’t think my LPL pictured showed the scale of the robot. Fu Matron

I can’t honestly say that I like the "robot"… but Lizzy and the figures around it are top notch!
-
I dunno. The robot is pretty nice. I would be proud to have it at my disposal. The British contraption is very nice, yes.
-
The DAVID is excellent. What did you convert it from? Did you document a step by step build?
-
The FuMatron is brilliant. Any chance of some build pics? And are those Svenn's chinese character plates on there? I am guessing the DAVID is from an Atlantis toy originally? :)
-
All rather nice, I like DAVID very much. ;D
The crew look great too and the horse is excellent. :-*
-
All marvellous. :-* The Fu-Matron is wonderful and the D.A.V.I.D. looks almost like it could have existed. I really like the bopmbardier too, he looks like a proper hard case.
One teeeny thing... you've painted human eyes on your horse. That's just creepy looking. :o

I hadn't noticed that, but you're right, it is quite creepy...
David is excellent.
-
I love DAVID, but then, I think the FuMaton is quite cool. Not my image of VSF, a bit too pulp for me.
David is an atlantis toy yeah? :)
-

That’s what I like about the LAF constructive criticism. lol lol lol

The DAVID was built in a hurry and I just realised that I haven't taken any pictures of the build. It was a bit of a mad rush trying to finish it for the LPL. There is not a great deal of converting done. The basic model in an Atlantis toy

I did cut off some bits and pieces. Moved the lamps. Removed the winches and the old turret mount. Added the back door and the gun platform. Added some detail to the drivers compartment, including hinges and handles to the hatch, a viewing slit and some rivets. Built the back door out of plastic card.
I have some pictures of the Fu Matron biuld and will post them later on tonight. The plates were Svennn's. Very useful too. I haven't managed to get the embossing kit working that he gave me, these are just the one he had done for me. Thanks Svennn. :D
The horse has just black eyes with a little curved grey high light. It is wierd that it looks like a human eye in the pic.

A lovely collection of VSF goodness, GM! :-*
Your Fu Matron has out-Cyberkinged Dr Who's Cyberking lol lol lol
Lizzy does indeed look very authentic. She has some splendid traction engine style livery, which really looks the part.
We really need to see pics of it all engaged in a huge 6ft x 8ft battle :D

Fu-Matron v Tobsen's Bismatron... that's what I was after when I started ranting about VSF character war-robots. Ahh, I love VSF.
Very nice Giant Chinese Mecha, love the glyph-panels, and the use of the Empire Hell-blaster steam-rockets or whatever they are.
The DAVID is lovely. Now you've shown us the toy it came from, OK I can see it, but I reckon you've made it your own... 'I didn't do much, just changed loads of things' (I paraphrase). Looks xcellent anyway.
And the figs themselves, superb painting on them. I wish I could paint half as well as that, they look great.
Except for that possessed horse, it's just scary and wrong. Stop looking at me. Stop it. EEEEK!
-
The glyph plates are a really nice touch on Fu Matron. I don't think I really appreciated the level of extra detail on your entry until I saw these close-ups (I still voted for it ;))
Well done.

Thanks for all the nice comments
Sorry for the number of photos but you did ask :D
I thought it would be easier just to show photo instead of trying to explain it all.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong about it and it’s a very imaginative build. It’s just "not my thing" I guess ;)
Sorry if my comment sounded harsh lol
-
Fu is one huge mother! Fascinating to see its build come together.
I really like Lizzy - so looks the part.
-
They are both excellent, but I really like the imagination behind Fu.
-
The DAVID is great. I still have some boxed and will snatch the idea, if you don't mind.

Awesome robot but you'll need a big board for that one stride and it will be off the edge, :)
like the david too
dodge
-
Showing off your excellent scratchbuilding skills again I see ;) There's me thinking the Fu was just a conversion too! I like the colour scheme on the DAVID too.
Will be interesting to see how the Fu matches up against Chairface's monster:

I like the DAVID.
The Fu-Matron could grow on me, or squish me like a bug...not sure which... :D

Those are all great. The Fu-bot is awesome....and it amuses me that you have the character for love on his right arm. "Fists of Love"
-
That is one great robot! Looking forward to seeing the Bismatron fight it lol lol lol

Mac,
Crew by Empress I presume. Gun by?

The gun is a naval gun by Eureka, there is a crew of sailors which can be purchased by the side.

Sorry I am so late .
Yes the gun is from Eureka. Very nice little gun.

I hate myself for not buying a pantload of Atlantis tiys when they were on shelves.
-
I got it quite cheap on Ebay.
-
I saw the entire range for under a tenner in a charity shop- but I was at the start of a walking holiday in Wales! I convinced myself that they were too small.

Really, Wales, where exactly? ;)

Don't ask that question to an Eu official, remember they lost the entire country.
"Wales has been missed off a map used by European Union statisticians to illustrate the front cover of their official annual yearbook.
The map of Europe shows England and Scotland in the correct position but between the Welsh border and Ireland there is nothing but the Irish Sea. The Eurostat Yearbook 2004, costing 50 euros or £34.38, is compiled to "present the diversity of Eurostat's data".
That was one hell of a weird week. Tried to go to Chester one day, and when I got to the border there was just nothing there. Still no idea where we got to.
