I painted this Archive Miniatures Succubus in the mid 1970's. She has a sister in fire red that I have unfortunately misplaced. Oh how simple, but effective, the figures were in those days. I remember using her in lots of D&D adventures to laylow many an adventurer.

Still wonderful despite her age!

Agreed! I still collect these old minis - Archive and Dragontooth are my faves - the level of details is at a different level than todays minis - still have character though!

Oldies but goodies are fun. Have you found any Archive figures recently? I have looked but haven't seen any in years.

I pick some up every so often from trades and they do appear on evil bay quite often but tend to either go for next to nothing or daft prices when someone 'needs' something to fill a gap....as usual with ebay 10 minutes later it'll go for next to nothing again which is the only time I can get them :(
I'm always open to trades!

I think I still have a couple of those in my collection.

How did you cope with the rubbish paints before acrylic?

I used floquil paints in those days you didn't realize how bad the paints were. You just used what was availible. My first minitures that I painted in the 60's were done with Testors oil based paints that I had used on plastic model kits. Things are so much easier today with all the quailty choices we have.

It is fun to paint something from the old days every so often. Hope you find something interesting to try. Archive had a very nice take on fur that was especially interesting to paint.
