Post by: TheMightyFlip on 11 May 2010, 09:07:36 PM
Ive been intreasted in the CAV miniatures for some time, but am curious about the sizes, what do they match up to? 6mm? 15mm?

Traded mine awhile back, but as I remember they were compatible with Battletech stuff for scale.
Some nice sculpts in that line.

So safe to say they are "Epic" size then?

Pretty much. The mechs could be used with 15mm as walkers, but the tanks would be way to small.

I seem to recall they were billed as 10mm (or 1/160th, or N scale) originally. I recently heard about plans to re-scale the line to 1/225th scale, the smartness of such a move notwithstanding.

Most of the walkers were N-scale and/or 10mm, though people keep arguing over what that actually means.  May of the aircraft and tanks were produced at a smaller scale for cost reasons, and some of them have been re-issued at N-scale.

The further plans for the game and miniatures will be clearer after Reapercon, which is in about a week or so.

Are those the ones labelled as "true scale" in their catalogue?

"True Scale" means they were originally released at smaller-scale and the True-Scale ones are the N-scale rereleases, yes.

You may mix in the size with MWDA-Mechs and Heavy Gear.
