Quickie job to test out an idea....

i think that works Dags,
like the fish sheen and the eyes are particularly well done and 'fish like'

Where is the mini from?
love the reflective tones.

He's from Fenris Games (http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Fenris-Games_W0QQsspagenameZMEQ3aFQ3aSTQQtZkm)... not sure if Geronimo has got them up in the shop yet. I pre-ordered and picked them up at Salute. There are 8 different (metal) versions.

Wow, its superb. Thanks for sharing...
-
very nice indeed. Love the metallic sheen on the fish scales.
I'm still waiting for that armoured paleo deep one to be released so I can order all of them...
-
Top right pic looks a little rude ;) otherwise great pj. Currently working on a bunch of the old Grenadier Deep Ones - green so far and will have crimson gills etc. Geronimo got me at Salute and I'll work on those Deep Ones afterwards!
-
I love the base! Looks like he's just popped up on shore... nice work.

Perfect emulation on part of the fish scales and eyes. The Fenris figures are beautiful, though not my idea of deep ones, certainly fishmen though. :)

Did you use metallic paints for that?
Just a minor criticism: The left arm looks like it lacks a bit of definition and it almost joins onto the leg. The right side doesn't seem to have that problem.
I also just noticed the little pool of water between his legs. Cool :)

Fantastic!
I've had these primed and waiting for inspiration to strike since I bought them - you've given me the kick I need to start on them now!

Yep.... Vallejo Gunmetal Blue with Metallic Medium added to lighten it up for highlights

Yes - it needs a darker line to define the arm and leg

No, they're not up yet, and I'm eagerly awaiting them. I'm running a campaign this summer that requires a hoard, attacking a ship... apparently one poor SOB investigator found a stone (with a curse on it). The Pulp Figures Steamer Crew guys are going to be necessary... but are they ALL quite human? I dunno... looks like there's some RatTrap Productions Deep One Hybrids in there, and they keep looking over the edge of the boat, awaiting the Reaper Gorgoroth that will soon make its appearance. Muuuahhahhaaa! Well at least they've got an escape route - there's a Riveresco diving setup onboard.
