Title: Envoys to the Seelie Court (pics)
Post by: oxiana on 20 May 2010, 04:56:33 PM
Been a while since I posted any pics, so here's what's fresh off the paint table. A couple of Foundry Elves, that found their way to me via the Bazaar of Obscurities through the generosity of marko.oja and Malamute. Thanks - another win for LAF!

I don't normally go for fantasy, but something about these sculpts drew me in. A joy to paint, although I should point out that these guys clock in at closer to 35mm rather than the usual 28.

More to come later...

Nice execution and colour composition! It inspires me to get back to my elf project... I really like the figures as well.

While I almost detest the foundry elves I do admit that you make them look really good. Nice choice of color and very clean painting. Well done!

Very nice paint job. Surely it should be 'Envoys of the Seelie Court' though?

Gorgeous painting there Oxiana, really fine job.

Very nice paint job. Surely it should be 'Envoys of the Seelie Court' though?

They could be envoys to the Seelie Court, if they're envoys of the Unseelie Court.

I never knew there was a Seelie Court actually, I only know about the Unseelie Court.

A bit bright and shiny looking for Unseelie, but yeah, I did think of that after I posted :)

Seelie - 'Light Fae' usually associated with spring and summer.
Unseelie - 'Dark Fae' usually associated with autumn and winter.

There's always someone that causes trouble!

Thanks all for the comments anyway (apart from the grammatical one. Obviously.)

Foundry Revenant Elves, specially the female ones, make *great* 18th C. vampires.

Their pointed ears filed down, the female can also be used as 18th C. witches:

Witches don't have to be old hags wearing the Disney®©™ Halloween uniform!
