Well here's something I've been working on for a competition. Honest, critical and insightful feedback is more than welcome! (Smaller pics perhaps?)
The paint job:

This figure was an absolute delight to paint! The best way to appreciate Bob Olley's genius is from behind a paintbrush.

Nice one!
I've forgot who made this mini though, link?

Yeah it's by Bob Olley. You can get it from here:

Wow, I love the ghostly skull inside the helmet. I don't know how you did it, but the effect is stunning!

The skull in the helmet is awesome. Wish I could manage something like that. 8)

Excellent work. The skull image is a really nice effect, proper creepy and really adds to the model.
Nice one. :)

I remember seeing this "monster" in a truely bad movie when I was a young kid on Sat. morning "Science Fiction Theather" a weekly ritual to watch of my youth. I love your figure, great paint job, you really catch the movie so very well. Prof

Wow :) Thanks heaps guys!

Indeed! :-*

Nice job representing one of the stupidest aliens ever to darken a movie screen! The biggest problem is, I see that pose and can't help picturing Peter Boyle's Monster in Young Frankenstein, trying to do the soft shoe!

The skull was just watered down paints... particularly Scaly Green and a thin wash of Asurmen blue around the edges.
The eyes were done in black... and that was that!
I did the white reflection and put another thin wash over the top. I thought about Water Effects on the window but decided not to.
I think Robot Monster was rated #33 in the 50 Worst Movies... can't see why. It even has a real fight between a baby crocodile and a lizard!

Some thumbs of the finished product:

Does it cut the mustard? I'm not finished with the movie poster yet, but any suggestions would be a great help!
