I can't read Nic's writing on the packets, but it looks like they are called Hlaka. Howard will no doubt chime in very shortly with the correct name. The figures are essentially leather winged monkeyoids with 3 eyes. Eye height in their crouched position is about 22mm. There is only one wing variant for figures with a base, and a different wing for figures flying. I'd say they would make great flying monkeys for the Wizard of Oz if you have a little patience to file the 3rd eye off, which looks easily achievable.
Javelins - one figure on the ground, one flying. There is a small hole between the legs for a flying stand (not included in my pack) The javelin on his base comes off and fits in his right hand

Hmm first time I would have said a bit ropey with the flying monkeys in this range, the others are very nice however

Much nicer than the originals I have.

Good point I never saw the originals :)

Hlaka is correct. The ones with the pots are carrying incendiary weapons of not-quite-mass destruction ;)

What Greg said.
The Hlaka are found as mercenaries in many of Tekumel's armies - at least those within reasonable distance of their home eyries, anyway. (So Livyanu loses out...)
They are typically used as scouts and for harassing the foe with javelins. A few units use fire-pots, and General Kettukal had them dropping hot mud on the Salarvyani at the Battle of Ry.
The messenger set is meant to portray Prince Eselne receiving news (via Imperial Messenger) that the Emperor had died. (Not sure if the missive also mentioned that his brother had Usurped the throne...)
