Title: Size-question about Cowboy Bebop
Post by: Comsquare on June 05, 2010, 07:16:27 PM
Heisan,

hopefully some of you guys could help me.

Does anyone of you know the "true" size of the "Swordfish" or the "Red Tail", I mean the length they would have if they realy would exist?

Would be great if someone can help me out.

Cheers

Hmm, interesting query. The swordfish II is 45 feet long with a wingspan of 43 feet, and the red tail is 28 feet long and 23 feet wide. Why do you ask, if I may inquire?

There isn't too many anime fans here I imagine.

Don't say that. It's just that I don't give a *insert expletive of your choice* about Cowboy Bebop in particular. ;)

Yeah, I would like to see some Cowboy Bebop minis. The Swordfish in 1:144 would be my favorite.

Yes, Svennn is right, I'm after one of these and the Red Tail.

Looks like they're nearly in scale for 28mm.

So, thanks for helping.

Given your obvious affection for the heavily Anime-inspired Malifaux line JM, methinks thou dost protest too much... ::)

I still have the Red Tail lying around somewhere, it is indeed between 1/72 (20mm) and 1/56 (28mm)...

About Anime in general: I think they are visually stunning a t times, but I find it at times impossible to follow the storylines - and as story the most important element for me regarding ANY kind of film or literature, I'm not the world's biggest fan of the genre.

I think that aerospace fighter is cool, though.

I've been watching a heavily anime-influenced show on Danish TV called 'Skyland' lately (I THINK it is French), where each episode was a little story in itself. Liked that.

About a distant future where the Earth has disintegrated into millions of floating islands (Avatar/Flash Gordon style). There is an Evil Empire (insn't there always) trying to control all resources, and mainly the water, which is scarce) by rounding up and enlist all Psychics (called Seijins or something like that - never saw it in writing) who use sunlight for fueling their powers. A Psychic girl, and her maverick pilot brother, escape the empire and join the pirates/resistance, when their psychic mother (who was married to one of the leaders of the resistance) was imprisoned. You take it from here....  :D

I would like to know more about this 'international hit' Cowboy BEBOB? (Never heard of it)

If the Swordfish II would be around 13,7m and the modell has a length of 23,5cm the scale is about 1:58, which sounds perfect to me :D

Hopefully the Swordfish and the Red Tail are in scale compared to each other.

@ Argonor
Have watched Skyland some years ago and liked it too.

I like the idea of the floating landscape, similar to Dragonhunters, one of my favorites.

Was thinking many times about converting that to the tabletop

@Agis

Hei,
if you want to get rid off that old spaceship you have laying around, which only takes space and is not worth to be thrown away, I would be more than proud to help you and take it :D ;)

I've thought for years that someone should do some "not" Cowboy Bebop characters in 28mm.
