Does anyone know where to find WWI planes that scale up against 28mm figs?
Thanks!
-
Roden and Eduard are your best bets. ;)
-
1/48 plastic kits are the closest match ( 28mm is around 1/56)
Eduard kits are excellent.
Also try Roden for very nice models.
There are LOTS of models out there, the old SMER range are more basic, but 'chunky' and more robust for gaming :)

Thanks guys! I appreciate it! :)

SMER are also very, very cheap. In my opinion the best for gaming, as they are simple and robust kits well suited to being played with on a regular basis, as already mentioned.
The only downside is that the range isn't all that big, so if you want more choice you need to go with the more complicated and delicate kits from other manufacturers such as Eduard and Special Hobby (Special Hobby have a great range with some relatively obscure planes, I am a bit of a fan of theirs).

Hi there,
I came across a guy selling some 1/48 WW1 model kits at very reasonable prices, I've attached a list of the ones he has available below. I bought the an out of production Eduard model of the German 1/48 Floh aircraft for £7 and a Austrian Lloyd C.V for £8.50 both were in excellent condition and still in the wrapping. Definately worth considering if anyones looking for some 1/48 aircraft. Once I've ok'd it with him I'll put his contact details on here. Until then if anyones interested they can PM me and I can give you his details. He stays in the Netherlands so postage is a bit expensive but not bad if your buying a few kits I had four on my list but knocked it down to 2 in the end.
cheers
Andy

Wow, thanks for your help everyone.
I've been thinking about creating little skirmish game to go alongside Wings of War. You know, when a pilot have been shot down and tries to escape the enemy infantry, or fight his antagonist who landed near the wreck to take some souvenirs. :)
