Nothing says savannah like acacias, elephant grass and kopjes (rocky outcrops where prides of lions make their home).
Take a look at the colonial gameboard of our friend Frank: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19416.15 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19416.15)
Here's a little something on acacias to: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19311.msg234618#msg234618 (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=19311.msg234618#msg234618)

Great thanks! Any idea how Frank made his terrain, it looks really good!

As you can see if you follow the thread he's promised to make a 'How to...' on acacia trees. Let's hope he stays true to his word and sees thit as a reminder... ;)
I am personally also curious on how he made his elephant grass bases. I think I can deduct that he uses a mix of plastic plants and rubberized horse hair on washers but it'd be nice with a howto on this to.

This might help you out. Or at least offer an alternative idea.
