Title: Burn the windmill, skirmish in Vendée, 1794
Post by: SgtPerry on June 22, 2010, 04:15:27 PM
Here's another after action report of Moulins & Chemins Creux ( Windmills and Sunken Roads ), a modification to Legends of the Old West.

In this scenario, the Vendeen party must protect the windmill from the republican hussars de la mort.

Wow - as good as the 'Capture the Bridge' battle report!

I hope you continue to keep us up-to-date with progress in the Vendee?

Excellent stuff. More, please.

By the way, what has the First Republic got against windmills? Are they not sufficiently egalitarian?  :)

Some mills were used for the powder but the most important they were used by the royalists as a communication system : http://perrysheroes.free.fr/spip.php?article257

Ah, that does make perfect sense. A sort of makeshift Chappe telegraph, eh?

Its a cool idea for a rather neglected age (everything Napoleon tends to focus on the large scale battle) :)
Look forward for some more!

Lovely stuff, Olivier! You've really captured the look of the Vendeen countryside.

It makes me wish we were going back to the Vendee this year, but I suppose Brittany isn't a bad holiday destination instead  :)
