Title: Jack of All Trades
Post by: Tom Reed on 25 June 2010, 02:26:12 PM
I just got the DVD set and have been rewatching the episodes. Has anyone ever tried to do this as a game? I think it could be very cool.  I think that Gloire would work great. There is so much stuff that you could do. You have Jack Styles/The Daring Dragoon, Ben Franklin, Kentucky Sue, Blackbeard the Pirate, etc.

Never heard of this. Do you have a link to some background on the series?

Was that series not set during the Napoleonic wars?

Bruce Campbell is in it, that's all I need to know. It must be great. :)

Jack of All Trades is one of those great series that didn't get enought attention.
Its an american take on 18th centuary, with all the Hollywood tackiness involved (Marquez de Sade in S&M suit anyone).
Great buy!
And I've also considered doing some tabletop adventuring based on the series. Didn't find enough suitable figures thoug (it was 5 years ago so stuff has changed).

I confess I have never heard of it before.  I'll have to check it out.

I must confess I never watched it when they aired it here years ago. All the cheesyness in the first episode put me off at the time. It'd be interesting to rewatch it with different eyes, I guess.

Verne Troyer's role as Napolean is the ebst part of the series.

Closest we came to gaming it was in a South Pacific based pulp game we added Ghost of the Daring Dragoon as one of the event cards.

It was released at the same time as Cleopatra 2525. Whichever series got the best ratings was to get the funds for further series. Naturally the series with the scantilly cald female warriors got the ratings  :D

Tons of fun  as a series.  But please remember...  It went for the cheesy/campy factor right form the start...

Never gamed it before, but I did use the Dragoon as a character for one of my games...
