Once again we see some lovely upcoming previews of the Ends of the Earth Range by Brigade Games. The 28 mm Handschar operated in the Balkans and are a much needed injection into the 28 mm field of WW2. Well done to Lon at Brigade Games. :)

A very welcome unusual unit to use instead of the usual germans

Oh, some true nasties. Brigade is cranking out nice minis faster than I can keep up with. I was planning to get the sub and crew but now I don't know.

Great figures and I certainly know a few people who will be buying them (me included).
For those interested in this unit, the Axis History Forum has some very interesting photographs:

Just out of interest it would be nice to see some German second line SS equipped with the VZ 30 LMG and VZ 37 HMG.

Lovely stuff, I've been hoping for Handshar for quite some while. If we get lucky maybe even a line of Titos partisans....
-
A line of Tito Partisans would be great. I don't think the Handschar saw much action against any regular Russian troops much did they?
A few helmet head swaps and you could have yourself some Prinz Eugen SS troops as well. But then again, their "service record" is mainly against civilians, so they might not be the best subject for gaming. I doubt many of them experienced too many shots at them in anger...
I think other than those two, they were the only SS Gebirgs were they not?
A little trim to the feet and some head swaps again and you could use them for regular SS I suppose, or Gebirgs in the Heer smock would work too, mixed in with Brigades regular Gebirgs for a late war mix of uniforms. Lots of options here, not just Handschar!
