Title: Captain America and Bucky
Post by: killshot on 01 July 2010, 07:56:12 PM
The humidity played hell with the varnish, I'm hoping I can remove the fuzziness with some brush on matte varnish.  I really love these figures.

I dig the khaki pants!!!

Really great job on some great figs.

Can we see the front of the shield?

Nicely done! These figures seem to bring out the best in everybody (I've got them in my painting queue right now too).

Nice job!  I don't know what rules you play, but a guy on the A&AMinis forum created cards for Cap, Bucky and Red Skull.

Cloudy varnish fix that I found at this site:

http://old.privateerpressforums.com/index.php?showtopic=49296&hl=

It has a pic of the cloudy figure and an After picture on how it was cleared up. I could repeat what they post but he probably has it better :)

Who makes the Captain America figure?  I've seen it before and always wondered...

@Killshot

You got the shield upside down.  The straps on his arms go along with the ridges in the shield.  Unless that's how you want it to look :D

Great paint either way,
Brian

OOPS!  I'll fix that, thanks Brian.

Alfrik:  Thanks for the link, I'll try that technique out.

Thanks for the comments from everyone else too.

I got my version of the fig resculpted with the helmet from V1 of The Ultimates.

I still have a copy of the original as well in case I ever want a more classic look

good conversion and paintjob!

The original sculptor did the head and I had it professionally painted so the credit belongs to others :-) I wasn't going to risk a resculpted figure like this on my painting skills :-)
