it's a navy
here is a small submarine that I started last Christmas.
do not tell my wife, but the base of the submarine is a decoration of the Christmas tree that I shamelessly stole and cut ...
the result is much more than decoration satisafaisant and then nothing prevents the hook this year for Christmas lol lol

Great looking sub! Please post pictures of the painted sub when completed.
-
Its lovely :-* ;D
-
I see that you agree with me, it is much better than a Christmas tree.
next purchase: a big Christmas ball for the Making Balloon :D ::) ::) ::)
-
Paint it. :-* :-*
-
yes I will paint it but I did not have any idea about the color ... if you have an idea of color do not hesitate. my wife wants to put in pink >:D
-
Can't go wrong with a good boilerplate grey or VSF brass...
-
Or perhaps mahogany coloured ?
Wooden subs with brass fittings can look quite eccentric.
-
That sub is the bee's knees! Excellent work!
What are the parts taken from, other than the christmas tree decoration?

What about something like this, a weathered copper colour:

beat me to it
I wanted to suggest verdigris
-
Very nice indeed. I'd go with Overlord's suggestion for a colour scheme.
-
That looks really good.
You have used the Decoration really well, that's the perfect shape. The detailing is magnificent.
You should definately paint it according to the image that 'Overlord' posted.
-
An inventive use of Christmas tree decorations, very well done.
I would also suggest a Bronze/Brown colour scheme. Apply Verdigris or a green wash once you have finished.

It's a wonderful bit of junk put together to make true art. Well done!

Did I just quote myself? That wasn't right. Better to say that it was a reiteration.

I "found" a very large but broken hard plastic bauble that is going to be an observation balloon one day soon. I asked the supermarket if I could have it as the hook fitting was missing. They looked at me very strangely and said yes.
A lot better than them throwing it out for certain.

:-* Love the trident!
-
Very nice.

Beautiful work! A very effective paint-job.

oops ... sorry, I just saw the message.
I'll try to explain, it is not very complicated. the base layer is a mixture of bronze and green, followed by a dry brushing of bronze, then another dry brushing of old gold and then make alterations if necessary
-
thx
not bad either, but I meant the nautilus @overlord posted :)

Only a failed painter myself, but doesn't it almost look like an antique copper or bronze dry brushed over a dark green? Just the opposite of how I'd assume it would be accomplished.
