Title: Sculpted Ent for WOTR.
Post by: WorldAtArms on 08 July 2010, 04:22:50 AM
Since not liking GW's Ent, I decided to sculpt my own and see how it turned out, and Im quite please with it, and plan on sculpting quite a number of them for use in WOTR. It stands approximately 4.5" tall. Hope you like!

Not bad at all.

May I recommend adding more branches? He looks somewhat bald.

Otherwise, a very nice sculpt and I commend your spirit!

The GW ent is horrid isn't it. They kept trying to sell it to my girlfriend to use as a Wood Elf Treeman for WFB.

There's always these for LOTR though, I might get some with my next paycheck! We'll see.  :)

nice! I like it!
you are right, IMO GW never had a great score doing treemen, except the old Blood Bowl one, i love their funny naiff look

Certainly does look 'treeish'  ;)

I agree with Rob and have a few more branches with a little bit of finer foliage (and a birds nest for good measure)

cheers

James

A bird's nest would be quite fun.

There's an idea for Hannah's Treeman ancient I said I would sculpt!!!  lol

Lovely work.  DIY models are always fun.  This will certainly add variety from the 2 GW models available.

Nice, did you cast it up?

There are other ent's than GW if you look hard enough..... ;)

Lovely ENT - would make a great addition to any wandering wood. How do you envisage Huorns though? I see them as a bit like the scary trees out of the Wiz of Oz or Grimms fairy tales...

I really like the look of that figure. Great job on both the sculpting and painting. Thanks for sharing.
