Title: gardening with Duhamel
Post by: duhamel on July 10, 2010, 09:32:36 AM
hello

chairface asked me to do a tutorial on the vegetation on the bases. and as I still had a wood finish, I want to do.
first step: collect the material. I use many different spraying, some models of trade, and also things found. and I sprayed some mixtures, myself. one might think that a lot of flocking, but that's what I've accumulated over the years and there is not a year that I make miniature. for the rest I'll show you during the day with photos if I do not nap with pinacolada: it's too hot!  lol

I begin with the flowers, because I think that is what interests you most. I made with tissue paper. at first I tore small pieces, then I cut confetti pieces with a cookie. for the rest everything is Image

Thanks for the tutorial. I'll be putting a Victorian pleasure garden together soon so this will help.

are the latest pictures. there is not much else to add, except to use different flocking.
Small flowers nothing complicated, my 6 year old daughter the glue on the bases.
if you have any questions please, I'll be happy to answer

The confetti flowers are simple, yet make a great impact.  Top notch idea!

Very cool thread, duhamel. We have not covered flowers and stuff this way much before.

One comment I'd like to make is that I think that sponge material for tree foliage comes out too uni-coloured to look natural. I often sprinkle a bit of course, light green flock on top to mix things up a bit.

Sorry Eric, I had not seen the question ...
for trees is not complicated. I choose a branch that I like to do my trunk, where I drill a few holes to add branches here and there.
it's just for the leaves of woodland scenics foam is compact and you just broke off pieces of leaves, and stick them where you want

ok, j'apprécie le matériel Woodland Scenic.
Pour ma part j'utilise de la fine paille de fer pour casserole pour le gros des feuillages...recouvert d'herbe woodland Scenic

Woodland Scenic has good material for terrain work.

Pis les p'tits fleurs blanches? What are they made of? I have not seen white flocking before.

I think the tiny white flowers are a great touch; a real 'spark' of nature.
