Did I miss it or is their a rule and a point cost for a Boyes Anti tank rifles or similar weapons? I want to include them in our game and don't have the basics, ie range, effect, cost etc.
-
For the one that I used the first game was 75pts. Not sure what the max range is for it.
-
75 points seems very high. It is esentially a single shot. HMG, (actually .55 caliber).
At 75 points it is almost a man portable artillery piece.
-
I would suggest 40 pts
Range same as HMG
Damage modifier - 1
But I am very interested to hear your suggestions.
Thank you
Björn

there was an AT rifle in one of the tank rules, I suggest You take these
-
former user,
Where in the Tank rules????
-
I don't know exactly
all tanks are listed in the SCW supplement
don't have it with me now.
-
Are you sure former user ?
I think the damage modifier of -1 is appropriate.
-
pretty much sure
I'll look it up - it was a tank/AC that featured an AT gun that turned out to be an AT rifle when I researched it
I remember that the solution was to use the elephant gun stats with the appropriate modifiers and long range
-
well....I must get more familiar with our rules ;)

This is what we ended up with. For each of the vehicle types on the penetration chart I assigned a weapon of a comparative level of penetrating ability. So in the soft skinned column you have small arms as the equivalent weapon and over in the tank column you have the light gun. When rolling for a penetration effect you add or subtract from the roll depending upon the distance between the column assigned to the weapon and the target's column. So a Light machine gun firing at an enclosed armored car is going to add 1 to the die roll but an HMG will be even. Added to that we have a requirement that LMG's must score three hits to roll on the penetration table and HMG's must get at least two hits. So far it seems to work fairly well. The column shifting seems to offset the multiple hit requirements for penetration.

And for the Boyes ATR, we were going to have it hit like a rifle but with HMG range. One hit and it penatrates and shifts 1 column up from the HMG column.
