Hello all:
I was really inspired by this topic from Agis
http://forum.backofbeyond.de/viewtopic.php?t=1974&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
and when the new Heroclix Avengers blisters appeared in my shop I bought one and, luckily enough, I had a miniature of the new Captain from Ultimates in WW2
This miniature, which I will repaint and rebase soon:

I plan to use him for WWW games, and I'd like to discuss his stats in Amazing War Stories. This should be no problem, as Sgt Steve Grant is a really good point to start, but what about the Shield?
I am thinking in something simple. For instance, giving Cap a +2 o +3 in his DG skill. I though in increasing his overall DR, but this doesn't seem appropiate to me as the shield is not an armour, and the cap must be skillful to defend himself with it.
Opinions?

Shields are being debated like mad amongst the Rattrap crowd right now. I like your solution because you're right--it does seem like it's something that makes Cap less likely to be hit, rather than just protection. But +2 or +3 to Dodge is pretty hefty as far as a bonus goes. I think I'd make it +2 to DG for the purposes of defending against gunfire only, make it throwable like an Improvised Weapon, and make it cost 2 Attribute Points to purchase.
Is what I would do.

I like your suggestion, Pete...

Can you tell us how the figure looks in the flesh? The face seems a bit big and the helmet looks odd in the official picture, but it could just be the angle (and paintjob)... :)

I hope to finish repainting it this weekend and post pic soon
It is a bit oversized compared with 28mm minis, but that is usual with Heroclix minis.

German bullets are of no use against an adamantium shield!

Tidy. Top stuff.
I always like to see minis "doing stuff" as figures in a landscape rather than just lined up for a photo. Much more interesting and inspiring. That setup looks like it would make for a fun, quick game.

great scene! straight out of a comic book!

Great pictures! :D
The sculpt itself is a bit uninspiring, but I think I might get one anyway and replace the helmet with a more accurate version. :)
