no I think it's safe to say they're here to stay!

Great animation there. In many ways you can do more with a drawing than you can do with live action, the Z's in that film are superb. Is this the future of comics?

It's been the "future" of comics for the last couple of decades. :)

I liked the comic well enough, but couldn't sit through this.

How so? I grew up reading printed comics, still do, the "movement" was implied by the drawings, part of the comic artists skill. This is a moving comic, not really full animation and I imagine it's designed to be downloaded onto phones, ipads etc. I don't remember those when I was reading 2000ad in the 80s :) It just seems pretty new to me.

There was an old version of Watchmen that was recently re-released on DVD that was a motion comic.  I think it came out in the '90s but I don't recall exactly.  They're just getting more popular/common now.

Latest Trade Paperback of the Walking dead, Book 12 released this week, and AMC are running the six episode first series of Walking Dead this autumn, zombies are very much, un alive and kicking in 2010.

;)

How so?

They did CD and VCD comics in the 90's. And attempts to popularized animated comics have been going on ever since. There's even a number of webcomics that regularly incorporate animation. The style of animation is pretty much regular flash animation of which there's tons of out there.

I really don't think this in particular is the future so much as an part of the current entertainment industry push to reuse as much material as possible to cut costs.

zombies are very much, un alive and kicking in 2010.

It's getting to the point I think I would prefer sparklepires...

Thanks for posting!  It'd been a while since I've read the first stories in this series--nice to have a reminder of how it all started.  Much better than most animated comics--usually the pacing and the limited amount of animation make them impossible for me to watch.  This had great atmosphere, voice acting and they did enough with the panels and animation that it felt very cinematic.  Need to find some minis to represent these characters!

And World War Z out the summer of 2012 too!  And I would expect a Zombieland 2 some time soon also!
Romero has his new zombie film that has not been released yet.  I saw it on a cable pre-release channel.
It was alright.  It is set on an island.  Sorry can't remember the title at the moment.  The Romero films alway have some stuff in them that is really stupid.  Some people think this is campy... but I think it is stupid in a dramatic zombie movie.  Now I love it in a zombie movie comedy like Shawn of the Dead or Fido.  But I prefer
an ultra realistic zombie movie like the 28 Days Later series.  And of course he always has his message about how mankind is it's own worse enemy.  This was not a top zombie film but better than many.

I've got 70+ issues of the comic. It is very good!!

If I ever run a zombie apocalypse rpg it would follow this comic closely.

It even loaded with good miniature scenario ideas.

You guys might also want to check out "High School of the Dead". It's a manga and they are doing anime shows too.

You mean the one with the fighting Irish enclave?
I fell asleep during thr first viewing, it seems that they've cut the film really badly in some parts or just didn't bother with the film at all in some parts. Romeros first films were great, but now he just do films based on that.
