Great models, straight to my want list :)

Great cattle, I really need to get some further on... Stop releasing so many damn good mini's, my wallet is burning :(
-
herd ordered........
-
I want them all… But I just don't have enough cash right now… Well, I'll order some later on ::)
-
COWS.....well now that's useful.... what about more Zulus???
Calm down chaps....the brolly is up for the sh*t storm I have prevoked.....concentrate on your core products....quick and fast like the much hated Foundry........(they are nice moo cows though).....

Well now, cows are useful, always assuming you don't have shed loads of the Foundry ones. The historic Rorkes Drift Brits are nice, not strictly short of variety in the brit line though, are we? But, new more aggressive/powerful looking Zulu sculpts would have been my choice, in case no one's noticed. :D
-
Well i suppose one could always use the cows as the horns of the buffalo....or get some so the Officers have some hoof d'ouvres while in camp awaiting the Zulu onslaught........Now i've milked the cow jokes i have to say the historical figures and the cows are awsome, now i wonder what will be next on the Ladies plan?

the longhorns look superb, just what im needing for the rorke's drift corral. great job on the historical Rorke's Drift characters. :o

Sorry Teld but there were no cows in the corral at Rorke's Drift - the few trek oxen that were at the post, had been turned out to pasture (to be killed during the battle) but sadly no stampede.
I spose that would make a nice little Empress figure - Ivor Enamuel and his sickly calf.....

now that would be cool im putting that on the wish list! lol

I would like to see a vignette of the wounded Cpl Allen and Private Hitch dragging the ammo box round to re-supply their fellow soldiers, or Hitch with his arm slung up, firing Gonny's revolver........
Schiess would be nice hobbling along or even better - a vignette, swinging his crutch and rifle at a Zulu warrior.....
The Rev George Smith, complete with his holstered revolver and ammo bag.......
Lugg (NMP) in his wooly hat and tied up carbine......
Then there is Ulla Jacobsson......(but that's another story......)
Oh to have my own sculptor.........

Its probably incredibly bad form to mention another manufacturer on this thread (may the moderator stike me down) but have you looked at Redoubts Zulu War specials? Many of the characters are there. I hasten to add that doesnt take anything away from the lovely Empress line.
-
Hi,
I used to have a number of Redoubt figures and I was not too keen on them (particularly the helmets) but as you say they do make a lot of the figures that I mentioned in the post.
No Miss Jacobsson though........ :'(
-
have to agree there on the redoubt stuff they are lovely ideas but not as stunning as empress stuff. for me id love to see from empress:
drummer boys, stretcher bearers, a quater-master, british casualites, general service wagons, cavalry and above all more infantry!
sorry to ruffle your feathers david ;)

All the above + native troops and navy ;D

in MHO, best cattle around, would love to see more versions and possibly a herd deal
good bargain anyway
and well, from what I hear, cattle were definitely involved in the ZULU wars in some way....
No true ZULU range without cattle....

yes sorry I did not explain .. after getting the loverly empress film rorke,s drift charectors I thought it would be nice to game both the historical and the "film" version for a bit of fun.
-
now that there Teld is a good idea

Nah, the Tony Barton 20mm dead cattle, designed to dress up your table for Normandy, are the bees knees. If you don't play WW2 you can always do a diorama of a BSE outbreak. Probably make an interesting change from zombies to boot.

Oh I see......I tried that some years ago based on the film 'Where Eagles Dare' but it got so confusing no one knew who was German or British..... ;)

I just took the plunge and purchased a British Zulu War army at Historicon (the big U.S. convention) and I can't wait to add these figures and cattle to my collection!
