Title: 15 mm Assistance
Post by: FifteensAway on July 31, 2010, 05:54:39 PM
Hello there,

I asked this in my introduction but this may be a better portion of the forum to ask (and it gets me that needed post to 'stay forum alive' I hope).

Can anyone help me track down these in 15 mm:  Baboons, naturalistic not fantasy styles, vultures, and flamingoes, part of a project under way?  And while I'm asking, I'm also looking for 15 mm Pygmies.

No idea about the animals, but I know someone who reported good results using Pendraken 10mm Masai for 15mm Pygmys  (they look great)

When you find the animals, soplease updateus, as we 15mm fans could use the heads up.   ;)

Thanks, Fjodin, for the link to the gorillas, wasn't aware of that one.  The Irregular monkey I knew about even before they did - my request (thanks, Ian, if you're 'listening') though not what I was hoping for but still useful.  Did much better with my other requests.  Doesn't sound like they'll be adding many critters any time soon, sadly.

15mm civilans and animals range is not that big as at 28mm scale, but at least 15mm range slowly grows :)

Here are my painted gorillas (there are 6 apes in pack):

So, we CAN game the opening scene from "2001"  in 15mm now :D

Probably diesn't help, but Museum Miniatures do some domesticated animals in 15mm, including chickens, geese and donkeys.
Not sure what they are like, but their camels are excellent.

Lion - very good model

Labrador dog - love this one! By the way this is my first painted 15mm model ever (before I painted 1/1200 and 1/285 vehicles, Aeronefs/Land Ironclads and 2mm minis:

I use their chickens and geese and I like them.

The Irregular animals are nice too. I have the pigs, sheep and cows, along with their dogs and they're all been useful. I must get some goats.

Just got time to reread the thread and thought those of you into 15 mm and like to add critters should check out Baueda's range of figures.  There cattle pack actually has a bull, cows, and calfs.  Similar with their sheep, at least an actual ram - don't recall if they had lambs.  But definitely some cool animals.  So, Irregular, Museum, and Baueda, and few things in Peter Pig's ranges (tiger and gators).  Anyone done business with Mick Yarrow Miniatures?

Yes. I've only bought a few items and was pleased with the service.

Some of the sculpts are better than others and I've found they paint up much better than they look.

Below is one from the Dark Ages Range. It is a Romano British Cavalryman wearing a Roman sports helmet.
