Title: Hello from beautiful Q-City
Post by: Sir Dryden on 11 August 2010, 09:09:00 PM
Hi to all,

I decided to post something, anything really, because after reading the forum rules and seeing how long I've been lurking around here without doing anything, it won't be long before I turn into a robot, and I sure don't want that to happen.

Mmm...

Maybe I read that wrong.

Anyway, I'm a long time gamer with a soft spot for miniature games. I was the first guy in Canada (well, maybe the second or third, but still) to buy WH40k 3rd edition way back when. It's true! Ask the guys at the Eaton Center's GW store! What do you mean they all got REAL jobs by now? Oh well...

Currently my interests are more focused on WW2, Hârnmaster (I know, I know, it's an RPG, but the rules are great for small scale combat WITH MINIS!!!) and Pulp, though there was this TV series running here last spring called "Musée Eden" that just made me want to embrace the Gothic genre, or maybe just the lead actress. But I digress...

I currently don't do a lot of painting or modelling because a: there's no room around here since my baby boy changed my life and b: well, see a: and repeat it loudly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, heck it's the best thing that's happened to me in a loooong time, but still, I miss me minis.

Okay, that's enough. This little message should keep me from seeing my beautiful mitts turning into clumsy metal claws for a few months. Oh, before I go, please don't go all English Grammar and whatnot on me 'cause I usually speak French and, you know, it's different...

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden

I tend to reserve my Going All English Grammar On People for folks who a) are native English-speakers and b) don't demonstrate a grasp of the rules.

As neither appears to apply to you, you should be fine.

I miss living in places where one could expect to find Canadian pennies on the sidewalk...

You seem to know what an apostrophe is for, so that puts you one up on most of the native English-speakers who post here.  :)

Welcome!
