Title: Best European (internet) source for Woodland Scenics Tree armatures?
Post by: traveller on August 16, 2010, 10:32:59 PM
I haven´t found any reasonably priced African Acacia style trees so I thought I would try to make my own. Can anyone advice where to buy Woodland Scenics? (ebay was pretty empty... :-[) Grateful for any help!

If you search woodland scenics on here, a lot come up. I've only heard good things about their service.

Good service, sure. But their postal charges are horrible as they only ship with a signed-for option

If I recall the basic postage is around £2.50 and that covers some fairly substantial orders. If you think they're charging you too much then contact them and ask for a cheaper rate (as it says on the shipping page).

£2.50 doesn't seem much to me, certainly I'd spend far more driving to my local shop to buy stuff, but everyone has different perceptions.

I enquired for shipping 3 packs of Wills plastic sheets, weight maybe 500 g within Europe:

Order Totals
Item Subtotal inc Vat £8.43
Delivery Total £7.01
*Total* *£15.44

Comment from seller: "Im afraid to say we only send parcels signed for. This is due to mail fraud rather than lost parcels."

That put me off

My standard go-to for WS stuff is EC Scenics:

http://www.ecscenics.co.uk

I've only had good experiences with them, though I haven't gone through an extensive search and compare process for this (I'm not the type - first link that seems remotely trustworthy in Google usually gets my business :) ).
