Can anyone recommend a maker for 28mm German Shepard's? I want to paint one for a K-9 team for my 'Nam games.
I did do a search and in the past discussions, Ebob Miniatures came up and I did go check their site. Nice looking mini's, but it's currently listed as Out of Stock. So, I'm looking for an alternative.

Give Eureka a shot I know they list animals on their own and there is a nice shepard in there modern germans as part of a dog team set. hope this helps.

As pointed out, Eureka do a good shepherd. It has the right amount of rear drop and everything.

So it's really a German German Shephard ;)
Most of the time we, in Oz, used to call them Alsatians. German Shepherd only appeared as a general term in the Sixties when people started having them as pets and not attack or guard dogs.
Strangely, most of the modern shepherds are wussy blouses mainly due to only keeping the best behaved ones. I seem to recall a couple of years ago that the Army was looking at building back some of their aggression.

I most certainly wasn't making that distinction, my good man. :)
I can't speak for outside Oz, but here the breed has become very docile in recent years (I think we were also down to a very low number of breeding dogs nationwide at one point due to an import ban). The point was that there are apparently concerted attempts at out-cross breeding to raise the aggression level in some of them (for guard purposes).
They're not a patch on Australian terriers anyway. Brave, loyal, independent and used for sheep-herding originally. And they don't take up the whole lounge.

don't know about that, all dogs are best left outside where they can't stink the house up ::).
There are some really nice wolf sculpts out there, with the right paint job they may well pass muster.

@Hammers, Definitely looking at the Eureka's one's now. I really like that crescent shaped base you made for the dog in the picture. That's down-right genius (and now stolen)! ;)

German Shepherds is all I've ever heard them called, so it's interesting to learn there's other names for them. I'm very fond of dogs (have 2) and can talk about them all day long. If you're interested in K-9 teams, the book that I'm currently reading that inspired this inquiry is called "None Came Home: The War Dogs of Vietnam" by Sgt. John E. O'Donnell. Really amazing what 1 human and a dog can accomplish at night.

Gripping Beast do some dogs, not sure of breed though.
Someone did a Roman personality figure a couple of years back based on the opening scene from Gladiator, general on horseback with dog.
