As there are over forty rivets on these two small parts I think the genre is a given ;)

The gates of hell? ::)
-
cool
well, it looks like... a gate?
judging from the proportions from a fence/courtyard wall...
the contrast between the elaborate irinwork and the rough boarding is irritaing, but I guess there is a reason for it
where did You get the ironwork?
-
Miss Whiplash's beadstead? :D
-
The booth walls for the annual county faire presentation of the Hellfire Club?

Doors to some kind of funky steam carriage?
-
Your having your house re-designed with a strong Arts and Crafts motif and built these gates to give the gate building tradesmen an idea of what you want? Now all you have to do is find the right William Morris wallpaper and start swaning about in a silk scarf and sword cane quoting Arthur Machen with your new bride Helen Vaugn......I doth ramble.
Nice gates :D

Steam powered water closet?

Tis part of the framework to Wellington Flannel's Apparatus of Abstruseness. Then again maybe not.
By the way, did you take the picture on a mysterious leather bound tome that contains the answer to almost everything including where all the odd socks go?
-
Reminds me of an enterance to a Bawdy House I frequented in the French Quarter....
many many years ago...
Just imagine a large mulato bouncer stood to one side, under moon light and you get the general picture....
-
where did you get the wrought iron from?
-
I don't know where he got the ironwork from, but I've seen a lot of similar stuff from an ebayer called "everydaygoodz".
-
I got this from an e-bay seller in China called WeHonest
http://stores.ebay.co.uk/WEHONEST_Fences_W0QQ_fsubZ1772579012QQ_sidZ149381402QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322
the o guage one looks decent too

I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived as it is very fine and nicely cast. You get brick plinths and stantions too, they are a little less impressive having quite a bit of flash but nothing that cannot be cleaned up.
The gates are made from one piece of oo guage which I cut in half and then added strip to rebuild the edges. It is approx. 7cm wide.
The EveryDayGoodz looks like the same stuff, probably the same seller under another name, and has more listed at the moment

I would recomend it

I got a whole bunch of tree's from this guy a few months back... a whole Ardene's worth...
Worth taking the time to go through his listings, as most of the stuff he sells looks like OEM for "Western" based model train and architectural model makers supplies... check out the bulk buys on figures and on tree's etc etc...
Service was good and the quailty was also good, and the prices are amazing...

if you wanted to play an Urban game like hunt the terrorist in a shopping Mall, and need lots of er, shoppers for scenery and meat sheilds....

Thanks so much for those links Svenn! I needed exactly that material for a project I'm working on now.
-
I've shopped from the guy before and he has got some really nice stuff.
And besides, with the name "WeHonest", there's no room for bad feedback ;)

Sorry for going off topic, but this:

As much as I liked the inspired idea of them being space marine shoulder pads I had to admit that there were not enough skulls so resorted to the original idea of an early VSF troop carrier/landing craft nef. Please excuse the crappy pics.

The Nottingham one actually :D Hopefully its a swap deal for some lumps of mis-shapen lead ::)
-
Oh yes, I like this :-*. I'm wondering if this is the first VSF landing craft I've seen. Could be the start of something new. Great design and detail as usual, those railings work well and the 'wings' are a nice touch too.
Over to the Nottingham lad to see what he has planned for this, Atlantis perhaps? ;)
-
Lovely details :-* :-*
Very unusual shape. Do you have a plan view?
Is there going to be a ramp at the front?
-
That is absolutely beautiful. I want a 1:1 version please. :-*
-
Very nice, I ilke the ship like sides, it reminds me of a steam punk style pirate ship with rivets :)
-
I think it's great :)
While it would probably fit in with my Collegium force on Atlantis, it's actually destined for Venus. It won't have any ramps for two reasons, firstly it's an Aeronef and therefore doesn't need to 'beach' as it were, and secondly it's a civilian trading barge that's been commandeered by the Royal Marines for troop movements.
