I need some of these for my Charlie Dont Surf build so I might as well do it now. :)
I will be doing three of these but will only post photos of the entry.
I dont have a Micheal Bolton CD so this terrible Movie will have to do instead.

Can you tell what it is yet?

???
Flying submarine?
VSF reciprocating cannon ball launcher?
Hill for Molemen?
OK I give up - what is it?
-
hum... a buddha altair?
-
My guess is a shrine.

You are setting a good example here, Dan, showing what you are sacrificing at the altar of Teh Hobby. 'Shanghai Express', you say? I will think long and hard on which CD/DVD I will sacrifice.
By the way, you people, I will not disqualify DVD entries.

Especially if it's 'Micheal Jacksons This Is It' lol lol
cheers

lol you guys.
I didn't make as much progress as I hoped but managed to drill some holes in the offcuts to mount some bamboo into. I then hot glued the offcuts onto the base along with a washer to mount the idol on. Last thing I did was to fill in some gaps with airdrying clay.

Just a bit more progress. BBQ skewers stuck into base.

Groundwork and skewers done.

looks awesome! :o ;D

Go to the picture you want and click 'All Sizes'. Then pick which size image you want. If you then right click the picture you can get the actual URL for the image. They've made it harder to do to try and get people to actually go to Flickr.
-
Will that have Zhang Ziyi standing on top of it?

Are you replying to the entry I deleted? It is quite frustrating posting pictures from Flickr now.I did sort it out and reposted which is why the post was deleted for those confused. :?

Sorry not sure what you mean but am guessing the statue? it will be glued to the washer just before the trees. I would really like to add lots of bushes etc but am running out of interest with painting at the moment.

Nice photos thanks.
I remembered that I had Googled images earlier so may just leave the base bare as the Bamboo seems to kill everything else off.
-
it will be pretty hard to give the right expression of the bamboo leaves... argh.
(please don't quote images :) )

Sorry, I should have explained that :D In the film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" the main characters can walk on bamboo branches, as in White Knight's pictures.
I didn't know BBQ sticks could look as bamboo just painting them properly, I'd like to see how this looks at the end.
-
I should have pointed out earlier that I got the idea for painting the Bamboo like that from a 20mm bamboo tutorial on the TooFatLardies Yahoo group. The leaves were my solution to the problem.

Normally I'd agree with you but these were small images. :D (or everybody else does it)
