Title: GK WaW Blog: Canadian 4th Armoured Parachute Regiment
Post by: Achilles on 06 September 2010, 01:05:02 AM
Well on a whim I decided to download the WaW and GK WaW rulebooks from Drivethru RPG looking for a new project.  I picked up the Bolt Action Red Devils boxed set to get me started, along with a Humber and a couple of Wily's Jeeps to get me started. The plan is I'll be complementing this force with Cavalier IIIs (as they're airdrop-able).

To start I'm going to build the Command Asset along with a Squad Asset of Canadian (British) Paratroopers plus a Support Asset of a PIAT. The Red Devils box is a great jumping off point even if it is a bit support heavy (An HMG and Anti Tank Asset and only one Squad asset).

I also picked up some plastic tube and plasticard to start work on my Cavalier.

More to come (as in photos!) as I get it done.

Sounds like a solid plan!
Please keep us updated - I am particular curious about the 1/56 Cavalier!

I've already got a ton of 1/100 DP9 Stuff painted for my German army. But with everything already painted... where's the fun in that?

(sorry about the flash!)

So instead I figured I'd jump scales and make some stuff to match my 28mm weird war stuff.

Well I've done up my APE Squad for Incursion in 28mm, and I've assembled and basecoated my SOtTR US Armoured infantry as well.

I decided I wanted to do Bolt Action though as they're just so nicely proportioned, and I can use them as Canadians. :D

Clearly it's for chopping doors up once they've set the building on fire!

As the primary function of the Lucky Seventh seems to be tunnel-fighting zombies under Gibraltar... I suspect that fire axe sees other uses. :)

Yeah probably chopping wood to warm their buts up again when they come topside. This is the one element of the models i just don't get - why have a fire axe when you can have a dirty great big powered claw or fist? It just doesn't make sense.

Why have close combat weapons at all when you could sport two .30 cals? :D I try not to apply common sense to diesel powered armored suits... ;)
