I have started a project where I am painting up units of the USMC in every major war from 1775 to present day. I just finished my unit in the old "Tin Helmet" of the early war Wake Island period battles and now want to start with the late '42+ campaigns. For this I have two major questions:
-First who makes the best 28mm size USMC figures in the late 1942+ uniform and compatible Japanese troops?
-Where can I find the good color illustrations of USMC and Japanese troops of the '42-'43 era? I have lots of BW photos but would like some color for the actual shading.
Thans for the assist,
Prof

US Marines and Japanese can be found at..
Battle Honors (http://oldglory15s.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=1_221_222&sort=3a) - I have a bunch of these and I like them.
The Assault Group (http://www.theassaultgroup.com/) - I do not have any of these but I'd like to as I've seen nice pictures of them.
West Wind Productions (http://www.westwindproductions.co.uk/catalog/index.php) - also makes Marines and Japanese. I have other West Wind Productions stuff. The figures are so-so (I picked them up cheap) but I like the tanks!

west wind do a nice mix - there are Berlin or bust or their seperate head system, the berlin or bust are a little smaller than their seperate head system models, but the difference is negligeble once they are painted up

The Assault Group are your first choice, but if you want to keep the budget low try Battle Honours.
