Looks fun, are the rules going to be available?  I have been having an urge for a fantasy eastern game and SoBaH is all the rage with my crew right now.

EDIT: nevermind, missed that final line about the preorder.

Looks great - I love the scenery.

I am also interested in the Kanji dice you used - I can actually read two of the dice faces; where did you get them, and how were they used in the game?

You mentioned a pre-order of the rules on the blog - any chance of a brief over view of what the rules cover?  :)

The kanji dice are just d6 and the rules use d6 for the mechanics ... just been waiting for a chance to use them :)

The rules will be available in a few weeks, depending on 'real work' ... they are based on my Ganesha Games Flying Lead set rather than SOBH (otherwise I would never do them as there is a SOBH 'Eastern' set out next year) and use quite different mechanics in a lot of ways. Armour and the fact the weapon adds to combat (rather than just the one C value in SOBH) is different, magic is based on ranged combat and archers are stronger ... also there is the Karma Cards which are random event and tactics cards which add to the game play (there are different ones for the three 'genres' one can play).

Had some nice games with your "Yume no Bushi- Dream of the Warrior" rules few years ago.
Looking forward for the new Variation ;)

Hopefully the Insulting-phase is still included

Have no fear insults and challenges are in there!

What I mean about the archers is that the way it works in BnY is based on FL where the firer adds the strength of the ranged weapon. The target only adds is base C and then hopes any hits are absorbed by any armour.
