After seeing what Hybrid did with a WH40k Ork on this topic:

I was compelled to give it a go myself...I plan to put together a squad of these:

I still need to add armour but the face is done...I have started the next one too:

I'm not yet convinced about the helmet but I still have lots to do so I may change my opinions when I get a bit further.
Thanks to Hybrid for the excellent idea...why didn't anyone think of it sooner?!?!

They look great! I’ve got some with helmets as well. If you sculpt their brows you can give them all kinds of expressions as well :)

yay!
really nice! are they for a 15mm sci fi too?
or for 28 mm?
-
Armour and slightly larger bases as apposed to your 15mm stuff will give that sense of size and remove the 28mm'ness if you know what I mean.
I use 20mm for mine from Doug, not a fan of multiple figure basing.

I agree completely. I tried keeping mine on their 25mm bases and found that they just looked too much like 28's in a 15mm game. As soon as I put them on the larger 30mm bases they looked right to me.

Looking good!

I've now re-based them on 30mm bases...and will be adding armour to them when I have finished all of the sculpting work on the squad. I have 5 on the table at the moment with another 7 or so available for conversion. Once I have more progress, I'll post more pix :) .

...just need to drill out a couple of barrels and they'll be ready for painting and basing :) :

Inso, those look excellent!
The faces have loads of character!

They are looking great.
I haven't had time to finish mine yet. I kind of forgot that it was my wedding anniversary this weekend, as you can imagine that went down well with my wife >:(
Hopefully I'll get a chance to finish them during the week instead. Once I'm out of the doghouse :D
