Title: Cthulhu in 15mm
Post by: Belltower Steve on 05 October 2010, 02:22:06 PM
First post so bear with me......

Been slogging through the message boards and it seems as there is a pretty good interest in Cthulhu / Pulp in 15mm.

My project is converting the Arkham Horror game from FFG into 15mm. So atleast that gives me a baseline of 48 investigators and 36 allies for characters.  atleast it will keep me focused.  I will be using the RAFM figures for the creatures as they fit alot better with 15mm than the 25mm counterparts.  Especially a figure next to my dark young.

I've started to compile my findings in an excel worksheet for various manufacturers (Blue moon, rebel, etc..).  I'll post that once I get it filled in a bit more.

Just placed a pretty good sized order for various figures from Peter Pig, utilizing a mix of pirate, wild west and WWI figures.  Will post pics when I get started.  I'll try to link the picture from the FFG game to what figure I am using for what character.

I did happen across a museum miniatures pirate with blunderbuss, so I figure I could go two ways with this, either a shotgun or with a minor bit of conversion add a drum and I get a thompson out of it.  My sculpting skills are not that great but I am pretty good at converting. So i figure that will get me most of what I need.

Does anyone have pics of the 15mm adventurers from Brigade games?

Thats about it, more of an introduction that anything but hope to be bouncing ideas off of people here

Steve

Welcome to the forum.

These are the contents of the two packs available from Brigade Games minus Victoria Hawkes dressed as a Zouave. They are larger 15mm miniatures. My apologies for the poor photos.

Woah, that never occurred to me.  15mm or even 20mm would be the perfect scale for Arkham Horror.  Too bad the prepainted figures are on the larger side.  The smaller scale is a brilliant idea.   :)

Ral Partha tried doing Call of Cthulhu in 15mm back in the 80s. It was thought that model railroad buildings could be used to create entire towns. Here's a copy of the promo figure sculpted by Tom Meier alongside a Reaper Eldritch Demon.

Good luck with your project!

Very nice!  I've seen this photo once before, are you painter?

Yup. :)

I think I posted this when I first joined The LAF so you might have seen it then.

Looks like we joined around the same time.  That would be why it seemed so familiar.  I ought to dig my Elderitch demon out of the lead pile.  Pretty sure I said the first time around, October 2007 or so, but nice job on the both of them.  :)

If you're talking about the Tom Meier figure yes it is 15mm. It even has the word "NECRONOMICON" sculpted on the front of the book.

This will be a cool project, like you said given the size of many of the mythos beasties 15mm would be a nice scale for the humans. My last commission was load of 15mm stuff and I rather like the scale. Lot's of nice 15mm stuff around atm.

BTW Roebeast45 where did you get the 15mm meier sculpt? I want one :)

That Tom Meier is really nice!  Would like to see more from that range, too bad it isnt around.

Right now I am waiting on my Peter Pig delivery, that should keep me busy for a while.  I ordered something along the line of 150 minis.  so I will have lots to choose from.  What I will try to do is photo them with the pack they come from so if people want to get them it will make it easier.

My next order will be with Rebel minis.  I really like their Irish hitman pack along with their minions pack.

I should have the first few minis done today from museum miniatures.  Ill post pictures

That is an amazing figure... quite a shame we can't get a hold of them...

I got the mini from a friend who used to work at Ral Partha. As far as I know it was the only mini sculpted for the line. I wonder if Mr. Meier ever did any others. If I had other copies I'd be happy to share them but I only have one and he's staying with me. :D
