Has anyone used 40mm or 54mm vikings or barbarians as frost giants?
GG
-
nope, but sounds like a good idea
-
But about as easy to find. Those D&D minis have some nice figures with translucent blue plastic for the flesh. Only 3-4 poses however.
-
Nice idea. Irregular minis do some 54mm Vikings. Not everyone's cup of tea, but at only £3.75 are certainly affordable:

From the main page, go to 54mm, then Ancients and they are near the bottom of a long page.

What a great idea!
Maybe base them with some 28mm 'battlefield debris' to give them a sense of scale. :)
-
The trouble is they are not looking down sufficiently so look a bit strange..
I got this D&D figure off eBay for about GBP5.00. He would stand about 54mm if he was stood up straight.

If can hold on a bit then I know that a well-known manufacturer will be releasing a range covering this sort of thing shortly.

...What?
54mm?
Vikings?
Frost Giant?
;)

Have you seen this Frost Giant by Reaper?

It can be found here:

I have repainted this AD&D figure (and added a beard and replaced the wonky spear with a GW plastic dwarf (!) axe):

They have a couple on foot too.

Those GB minis look awesome! I would definitely get that Odin one if it was available.
