cool! i want more photos! :)
-
Oh man. Dribbling with envy here, seriously.
Glad to see the zepp got finished, and all the other in-action shots of other projects we've seen in-progress here on LAF!
-
We've shot there from Texas raiding San Antonio, Adventures in to the Lost World, Zeppelin Adventures, Escaping the Zulus, multi player AT-43, Dairy of the Dead, some Triumph and Tragedy, Taliban vs Infidels and the Heroic Dungeon Adventure,
-
Such wonderful looking games, I'm officially jealous and really must try to make it again next year. Thanks for posting these. :)
Why is Overlord showing us his leopard-skin posing pouch?
-
I only got a few pics, and sad to say, selfishly, mainly from the games I was involved in.
(My excuse being that having run / taken part in 8 games, I didn't have time to shoot much else!)
First up, Gamer Mac (and his bro, Andrew's) stunning Zeppelin.
I can only tell you, it's even better in the flesh.
I'm sure many more people, including Gamer Mac hopefully, will have many more pics which do this incredible, epic construction full justice:

The cargo bay, plane dock and bomb doors.
And in case you were wondering about the level of detail, just look at the paintwork on the friggin' trolley jack! Not to mention the mug. I can only tell you it's the first time I've seen a 28mm scale pencil and clipboard perfectly rendered. And if I tell you the saucepans in the galley had food bubbling in them, well...
Next up, Snr Malamute's ever expanding San Antonio de Bejar - again, totally gorgeous.

Onto the Zulu War escapade game run by Malamute and myself. Three times through. This is the third game.
Revford looks worried at the British prospects - as well he might, he'd seen the previous games...
The idea is that the British have to escape the Zulus. In this game, strangely, they decided to make a stand on a hill... ::)

Things go from bad to worse...

Prince Louis Napoleon takes a circuitous route to avoid the fisticuffs. Unfortunately it didn't do him any good...

Captain Carey, wounded, unhorsed (twice), and having fallen over innumerable times, makes his last stand amonst the ooga-booga trees.

Corporal Grubb narrowly effects his escape from the donga...

My Wars of the Roses game from this morning. A brief but bloody affair.

Piling into each other in the hedgerows...

An unfortunate interlude on a hill.
And lastly, but certainly not least, Silent Invader's F&IW game. Grimm thought he had me, but in the end, I had him - ha ha!!!
An unsuspecting party of redcoats march smartly through the peaceful woods... ;)
And that's all I got :(
There were many more wonderful looking games on offer, and I'm sure the pics will be forthcoming!
-
This is all so wonderful.
Wished I was there !
Glad you guys had so much fun !
-
Why is Overlord showing us his leopard-skin posing pouch?
It might be leopard-skin. It might be a pouch. I may indeed be posing.
But it is, in fact, the "Furry bag of deathTM".
Used to dispense death, wounds or a lucky escape to the adventurers of the Lost World. :D
(Sorry you couldnt make it this year)
-
We've just arrived back in the westcounty, miniatures and scenery safely stashed away.
Great fun and as ever I didn't get a chance to play all the games I'd like to, there just isn't ever enough time.
-
Great looking games, tables and miniatures. I wanted to participate so much but failed to jump over the channel.
-
those are all really cool,
so glad I was able to be involved in your game yesterday Richard :D

-
You lucky, lucky bastards ... :'( :'( :'(
What beautiful looking games - congrats to all involved.
-
Hi Guys,
Wonderful stuff and I don't know where to begin. My love is the Texan War of Independence and the Zulu Game. Well done to all for facilitating a wonderful event.
Cheers,
Helen
-
That's incredible... a real community event there. All that hard work you see from the posts on this forum... it must be great to actually do something with it all. I like all the photos, especially the one of the zombie about the get run over by the car. I could probably have done without seeing the unfortunate shot of someone's crotch, however...
lol
Thanks for postnig these up, can't wait to see more!
-

Pretty much sums up what I was going to post lol
Lovely stuff.
-
Looks like a great fun weekend all the games look fantastic , glad a good time was had by all. Was really disappointed I couldnt make it.

To clarify that bit - it wasn't a proper "Great War" game, but rather a "1919 BoB-ish Baltic Bash" with Freikorps, Bolsheviks, Whites and Bandits. I've taken a number of pics myself and hope to do a battle report this week.
-
What a cracking selection of wonderful-ness :D
Thanks for posting :)
cheers
James

I also managed to sneak in a camera and shoot some of the action at BLAM:
Fantastic zeppelin!
My character - the professor, hurrying towards a rocket pack in order escape the (terribly outnumbered) german menace lol
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/clovermilk/BLAM/P1170777.jpg)
German damsel in distress... distresser being a British lady.
The whole build was ripe with beautiful details and it was even painted too! Amazing. (I was once in Scotland and I must say that my impression back then was that there was not a lot to do as a tourist where I was... I cannot help but wonder if this a general Scottish thing - because that would explain this out of proportions skillfully build build. ;) :D)

Next I played in Malamute & Captain Blood's zombie game. The setting was the 1879 conflict in order to justify these two gents doing zombies. Brilliantly painted and executed.

My characters were swarmed by zulu although one of them did make just to the doorstep of the contagion free zone and almost got away.
Another zombie game by Revford and crew. Built to last forever. Players could come and go almost as they saw fit. Very inspiring. Might pull out my own zombies and have a go at something similar.
I believe Overlord is doing his "Geezer, shut it!" maneuver on Silent Invader in this sequence..
... not to sure though? lol
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v404/clovermilk/BLAM/P1170801.jpg)
Richard started packing his War of The Ring game as soon as I started oogling it. OK no, I was out to late.. some unfortunately goes for the game I came to play - Tex Mex with Malamute.
I forgot to take pictures of Matakishi's crossfire game because I was too busy playing. I played it twice and it was rather funny being a Taliban. The opposition didn't seem to touch the ground before they got it!
Last I joined in on a game of GASLIGHT with Bullshot at the helm.
With all the steam contraptions you could wish for. And even japanese kamikze balloons. Lovely models.
That's about all I got in the box. lol
Thanks to everyone.

Was this Richards War of the Rings game with prepainted plastic miniatures and laser gun wielding zombies?
In all seriousness a fantastic little game using a system thats easy to pick up and playing on fantastic terrain with wondefully painted miniatures is just excellent.

Next year he is thinking of running a game using all of the above with a revolutionary new rules system where you replace die rolling with flicking the figures over like in Subbuteo... ;)
-

You're just saying that 'cause you won!
-
What beautiful games and sounds like all who were there had a great time. I wish I could get to game with some of you over there.
Maybe Salute next year.
-
Shear insperation superb! great looking stuff, thank you for the pictures, every wargamers dream...
Tony
-
brilliant, thanks for all the pics :D

We tried dragging him into our game filled with scandalous zombies and plastic, but he stayed true to the Lead and was having none of it. :)
-
Well I enjoyed your game, where else could I play the Golden Shower (and get away with it) other than in zombie infested Emmerdale?
Here are some of the Golden Shower cultists nefariously sneaking away from their vehicle to begin their shenanigans around the town dressed in sound muffling dressing gowns and slippers so as to avoid detection by the zombies (that worked :( ). As we say in the Golden Shower,, 'Silence is Golden.'
More photos when my report's finished in a day or two.

A game like that would justifiy any travel costs!
-
Oh wow! I wish I'd been there. Fantastic gaming tables and if the lot was like you guys here at glam this year I'd say great players to go along with the games. Really wonderful stuff. And the zeppelin photos made me loose a few sanity points... Just unbelievable.
-

Heh heh heh... Actually, my War of The Ring, (sh*t >:() Wars of The Roses game, was an almost entirely plastic affair...
It's not plastic I'm allergic to, just zombies :D
Loved the Emmerdale layout though. Top notch.

I think we all have a bit of allergy to things that plan to munch on our flesh, nothing more then nibbling allowed here.

All this steadfast denial leads me to suspect ulterior motives and guilty pleasures. I'm afraid my jocular suggestion of a 1348 Zombie game was closer to the truth than anyone of us might fathom, good Captain.
;) lol
-
:o
Oh wow!
Fantastic boards and minis combined with equally interestingly hairdos must have made for a great week-end! ;D
I really must get myself over there next year and I've already began plotting a devious plan to make it happen!
Cheers for all the photos! :-*

I hope your Golden Shower was more successful than mine. After an initial flood of success my shower turned into a rather sad drizzle. Great fun though. ;)
-
I left the board with two treasures so the two survivors of the foraging party were happy. Managed to get through three vehicles and ended up escaping on foot :)
-
Would have been worth the trip just to behold the Zeppelin but where is the top half? ;D
All looks fantastic, dont expect less for such a gathering, and sounds like a good time was had by all. Thanks for sharing.
-
Would have been worth the trip just to behold the Zeppelin
It's actually a "submarine with dolls" (direct quote from Mrs Matakishi)

QFT. lol lol
I like all the photos, especially the one of the zombie about the get run over by the car.
He was carried on the front for 5 or 6 turns - I had become so attached to the "Hood Ornament" I considered going back for him after he fell off. ;D
My favourite gaming moment/photo though is of Dewbakuk taking Bullshott up the back alley. ;)

A moment of tactical genius! Or perhaps tactical inevitability :P

I was straddling the bar in the Woolpack while facing imminent death at the time. Ask Revford, he was watching.

I was straddling the bar in the Woolpack while facing imminent death at the time. Ask Revford, he was watching.
The ever popular "hide in the pub" tactic just wasn't working out. :)
-
What a way to go though!
-
I'd just like to say an extra thanks to malmute for organising the whole weekend and thanks for letting me take part.
Anyway I thought I would add a couple of my photos...
First up was malmute's Texan game and overlords Congo game. Both looked brill, but I never got a chance play due to helping out with the Zeppelin game. Boo!!
Oldskoolrebel running our game...
"so mr Murray, you think you can beat me at tennis because I'm wearing a metal mask?"
Next was matakishi's afgan game. Lovely board, I can't seem to remember what happened in my first game :D(http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv179/andym2105/56280bc0.jpg), but I won the second game with the Afgans storming the ridge and wiping out the brittish before most of their troops entered play. Love that bazooka model with the wee guy stealing the boots!
Next up was captain bloods African game. Again another stunning board. Ever game I witnessed run always seemed to end on a cliff hanger in the valley at the far end with the brittish being chased off the board with the Zulus hot on their heels and a feather adorned spears sticking out of their backs!
The only other pictures I seem to have arepa the captains second game he ran on the Sunday. Im absolutely jealous of that mans skills. His boards are a work of art. I tried to be heroic with my knights in his game, but anytime my characters charged into combat, the dice fairy seemed to think it would be funny for me to roll 1's. In the end oldskoolrebel beat myself and dewbakuk convincingly!
Again thanks to all concerned!

Andym.

Thanks for the pics and ignore this lot, they're just showing off to the new boy.
There is a similarity though..........
