Title: New from Company B, M1 Scout car (1934)
Post by: CompanyB on October 17, 2010, 08:57:19 PM
A few years ago, a certain fellow enthusiast convinced us to make a rather unusual vehicle.  We had very little information to go on, other than a few bad images, and some verbal descriptions.  The result was the Sutton Skunk.

Well, he's been at it again, and somehow convinced us to come out with this.  The US 1934 M1 Scout car.

Mr Mike Broadbent has been kind enough to end his talents to the creation of this nice little model.  He even made us a nice crew manning the guns in firing position!

This model is already cast, and enroute to us.  We should have stock in a few weeks.  As we usually send out a good portion of our first arrival stocks to WCP and Brigade Games, we'll only have a few in stock ourselves when they first arrive. Please chime in if you would like one, now or in the future ;-)  it helps us figure out how many to put in the casting que.  Price will be $33 with four crew.

That's quite a beast... looking forwards to seeing that grace a few ACW2 battle reports!  :D

ACW2 was pretty much the reasoning for the request.   I also looked at what would be required to backdate our Stuart M3 to the M1 combat Car and earlier prototypes.  Not too difficult to do...

Skrapwelder hand crafted a few of these and they have already been our 2ACW games.  See the "Fire in the valley" battle reports.

These look really good, I will likely add a couple to my next Brigade order.

Oh I like that! Any crew members to man the rear gun?

That is very nice. Are you going to have the crew available separately?

We can make the crew available as a separate item as well as with the kit.  Really just depends on demand.  If folks would like that option, please chime in.

It's also plausible we could expand the range of those miniatures with additional packs of infantry or command.

Wow! Sign me up for several (and early model M2A2s, combat cars, etc.)!  Admittedly, I'll have to spread out the purchases, but they're too nice not to have preserving Law, Order and Shooting Socialists in the streets of the Twin Cities.  ;)
