Title: Sculpting Scenery - Which Scale???
Post by: Sangennaru on 30 October 2010, 02:09:50 PM
Hi everyone!
In those days i'm working on some WWII scenery stuff, mainly urban. they will be casted in resin.
Now i'm thinking to work on 28mm, but i was curious to see how many people should be also for 15mm or 1/72!
I've done a building for 15mm one year ago, but then after i sold 2 pieces i dropped, because i realized that i did MANY errors on the moulds.

so what's your scale? would you like to buy on that scale? or are you (like me) a proud modeler who is repelled by anything that should be scratchbuild instead? :P

seems that most of the people are into 28mm... cool! lol

i'm sculpting some facades right now, should you all more interested in simple facades (around 6 euros, i guess) or full buildings (well, at least 30-35 euros!)?

I'm making various separate windows and decorations, so you can make several different facades, you could make the rest of the building with scratchbuilding, making a very cheap and stunning-effect small town!

ehe :) personally I do not consider something smaller than 1/56 scale really "paintable". I think it's not funny. and painting is almost everything for me.

anyway, back to the topic. I'm planning a WWII table and I think I will patiently learn how to make buildings and make them with my hands, so I doubt I am the right guy to answer your question sangennaru. If I ever would buy, I think I'd search for something that can be a "system" to plan an entire city. E.g. lot of facades that can be assembled in various way and can so make up different buildings. I think it's pretty hard to do, but it may be the only one buildings-stuff I'd buy.
