Title: Pulp Mondays
Post by: d phipps on November 02, 2010, 01:52:44 PM
For 11/01/10:

After a break of a few months, we recently started up our Monday night pulp games again. It’s been great getting the old gang together, as well as introducing quite a few new players to the game.

Last night we gathered at Bubbachek’s. Kaiser acted as gamemaster. Zac, Meissner, Tidball, and Bubbachek played. And I snapped a few photos while gorging myself on left-over candy.

This four player free-for-all scenario lasted 6 turns, and took about 2.5 hours to finish. Over the last few weeks we’ve been playing 4 player games, so I think we’ll try breaking it down and doing a few 2 players games next week.

See you next Monday!

This looks really nice! I like the gaming table. There are some really good pieces on it (I especially liked the natives' huts). Looks like a cool game you had going there.

Really fun sounding game - love the centre piece building!

Thanks guys!

I was quite happy with how the huts turned out. Although making the roofs took way to long, so I don't see myself doing anymore for awhile.

My daughter did a lot of the work on the trading-post building. We added some bits inside and out to give it more of a real-world randomness. And it's a fun gaming piece with a passage for characters to run through.

THANKS!
Dave

Have we seen the huts here on LAF before?

If not, how were the roofs made? (please don't say "Individual lengths of string for the thatch"... I was hoping for something more elegant!)

Individual bits of string? No. Merely individual bristles from a large paint brush.  ;D

They've shown up before on LAF. Here's a better view of them...

That's one of the better thatched roofs I've seen. Did you ever post a tute on how to make those? :-*

Well, my camera battery died about half way thru the night, but I still got a handful of pics to share.

Herr Kaiser was excited to host the Pulp Alley Circus this week –

The players deploy their models under the watchful eye of the judges –

Wolf Girl stands ready to throw the book at someone if needed –

Safe atop a building, Doc Phlebo opens fire at Mannhammer. Muuahahah! –
(http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/sylvanbranch/100_1425.jpg)

Rushing across the street, and dodging lead all the way, Mannhammer ducks inside the doorway. In the background, Cleo's minions move slowly forward...

Doc Phlebo tries to outmaneuver Mannhammer by leaping to the street, only to take heavy gunfire from Manhammer’s colleagues –
(http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/sylvanbranch/100_1429.jpg)

And before he knows what hit him, Doc Phlebo is beaten down by Mannhammer’s steel fists –
(http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/tt359/sylvanbranch/100_1430.jpg)

“Can’t we talk about this?” Alone, surrounded, and seriously injured, Doc Phlebo looks finished...

There is no escape for the nefarious Doc Phlebo this time! And then the camera battery died… DRATS!!!

See you next Monday!

And while the flashlights were out, the good Dr. escapes.... That's at least how it should work out.  :D

I know this is Pulp, and so the cliffhanger is a trademark of the genre, but to leave us fellow gamers with:

There is no escape for the nefarious Doc Phlebo this time! And then the camera battery died… DRATS!!!

See you next Monday!

Is like those movie chapters that left you guessing whats next.

Man, you're an evil genius!

As always, your models and scenery are superb.

Thanks for sharing.

Best wishes.
